Benke, 84, passed away Saturday, July 3, 2004, at the Wellmont Lonesome Pine Hospital in Big Stone Gap. She was born in Trinidad, West Indies, was a resident of Wise for the past nine years and was a member of the All Saints Episcopal Church in Norton. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Albert T. Benke, and one son, Jeffrey Benke. Surviving are a daughter, Susan and husband Dennis Rudolphsen of Schenectady, N.Y.; a son, Robin P. Benke of Wise; three grandchildren, Laura, Heather and Kyle Rudolphsen. Funeral services for Rita A. Anna Louise Hughes BRISTOL, Va. – Anna Louise Ross Hughes, 73, of 306 Park St., went to be with the Lord Friday morning, July 2, 2004, from Bristol Regional Medical Center. She was born in McMinnville, Tenn., a daughter of the late Shela and Mary Margaret Ross, and had lived in Bristol since 1934. She was employed by H.P. King Company and Campbell Motors and was co-owner of Yesterday’s Treasures. She was a member of the Open Door Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, David O. Hughes Jr.; a daughter, Cathy Hughes Martin and her husband Jimmy P. Martin Jr. of Tampa, Fla.; two grandchildren, Amanda Shawn Martin and Carl David Martin; a brother, Charles E. Ross of Bristol Virginia, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Jane Ross, and two brothers, Billy Ross and Samuel Ross. Diane Fay Keen BRISTOL, Va. – Diana Fay Keen, age 54, of 28 Tad Court, passed away Saturday, July 3, 2004, at her home. Born in Blackberry, Ky., she was a daughter of Melda Smith Coleman of Honaker and the late Ernest Coleman. She had lived in Bristol for the past four years, moving there from Swords Creek, Va. She was employed at the Ball Corporation in Bristol Virginia. She was an ordained minister with the Mind of Christ Ministry. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by one son, Leslie "Scrooge" Coleman, and one brother, Ronnie Joe Coleman. In addition to her mother, survivors include two daughters, Ronda Whited Stevens and her husband Michael and Lisa Reynolds and her husband Foxy, all of Swords Creek; two sons, Timothy Keen and his wife Nancy of Hickory Junction, Va., and Harold Keen and his wife Tammy of Oakwood, Va.; eight grandchildren, Kayla Keen, Justin Reynolds, Josh Keen, Whitney Reynolds, Brittany Coleman, Kandee Wallace, Chance Keen and Samuel Stevens; one step-grandson, Jacob Coleman; four sisters, Ernestine Bennett of Roanoke, June Bond of Swords Creek, Judy Keen of Keen Mountain, Va., and Lou England of Pennsylvania; one brother, Ray Coleman of Rowe, Va.; special friends, Ball Corporation and Nora Bishop, and many additional special friends. McGlamery DAMASCUS – Ada E. McGlamery, age 80, passed away Saturday, July 3, 2004, at her home. She was a lifelong resident of Damascus and was a daughter of the late Luther and Emma Coraline Neeves Woods. She was preceded in death by a special grandson, Sonny Reed. Mrs. McGlamery was a member of the Damascus Church of Christ. Susan Spiker Sesco MARION – Susan Spiker Sesco, age 44, died Wednesday, June 30, 2004, in Homestead, Fla. She was of the Methodist faith. Susan graduated from Belfry High School, Belfry, Ky., in 1977, and Webster College in Gainesville, Fla., in 1993, receiving an associate of science degree in medical assisting. She was preceded in death by an infant sister, Linda Joyce Spiker. She is survived by two sons, Chester Franklin Sesco and Lucas Matthew Sesco, both of Gainesville; her fiancé, Stephen McCracken, and his daughter, Shelby of Homestead; her parents, Frank and Opal Spiker of Marion; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Patsy and Johnny Daniels of Beckley, W.Va., Merrianne and Charlie Cox of Marion, Jane and Lou Goodbrod of Chilhowie and Lisa Marie and Jerome Davis of Fanning Springs, Fla., and one brother and sister-in-law, Russell and Tina Spiker of Radford, Va. Josephine Stover BRISTOL, Va. – Josephine Dolores Boush Stover, 88, of 509 Fairmount Ave., went to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 3, 2004, at the Wellmont Hospice House in Bristol Tennessee. Mrs. Stover was born July 8, 1915, in Bristol Virginia, to the late John Lord and Hazel Grimes Boush. She was lifelong resident of the Bristol area, where she worked as a bookkeeper for Park-Belks. She also worked for E.B. Cox Company and retired from the Farmer’s Supply Company. Mrs. Stover was a member of the Tennessee Avenue Baptist Church. She had a deep love for flowers and was a member of the Bristol Garden Club. Mrs. Stover was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Elam Stover, grandson, Michael Joseph Stover, and two sisters, Dawn Colley and Margaret McColgan. Survivors include one son, William Granville Stover and wife Dawn of Johnson City; one daughter, Linda Ann Stover Phipps of Bristol Virginia; three grandchildren, Robin Richards of Bristol Virginia, Alison Widner of Bristol Tennessee and Mark Stover of Piney Flats; great-grandchildren, Summer Richards and Hailee Mann, and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Stover was deeply loved by her family and was given special care by her daughter, Linda Phipps, and granddaughter Alison Widner. Bertha Lee Talley ABINGDON – We celebrate the home going of Bertha Lee Henry Kinsolving Talley, age 90, who went to be with the Lord and her heavenly family on July 2, 2004. Mrs. Talley was born on Feb. 1, 1914, in Washington County to the late William and Elizabeth Henry. After her parents’ deaths, she became the foster daughter of Dr. and Mrs. David Leighton Kinsolving of Abingdon. Mrs. Talley lived in the Green Springs community most of her life, with the exception of the 26 years she lived in Tallahassee, Fla., after she and her husband, Tom Talley, retired from the dairy business. Mrs. Talley was a homemaker and a member of Green Springs Presbyterian Church, where she was pianist/organist for 34 years. In Tallahassee, she was a member of Thomasville Road Baptist Church, played piano for the senior choir and was an encourager to their Sunday School class. Her husband, Tom Talley, died in June of 1977 and she returned to Abingdon in 1995, where she was a member of Abingdon Baptist Church. Her last few years were spent at Abingdon Manor, giving joy to others and still playing piano by memory, even as recent as one week prior to being hospitalized. She was known for her music, her constant smile and sweet nature. Mrs. Talley is survived by three daughters, Donna Talley Garrett, Ann Talley Berry and Carol Talley Clifton and husband Mac R. Clifton. She is also survived by one son, Tom Talley and wife Julianne. She was the grandmother to 13 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren and counting. The viewing will be at Abingdon Baptist Church Sunday, July 4, 2004, from 2 till 4:15 p.m., followed immediately by the funeral services at 4:30 p.m., with Dr. Steven Pollard and Rev.
