She was born in Washington County, Va., lived most of her life in Washington and Smyth Counties and was a daughter of the late Grover C. and Maudie Snead Henderson. She was a member of the Calvary Bible Church in Henrytown and was a much-beloved mother, grandmother and friend. In addition to her parents, Mrs.Boardwine was preceded in death by her husband, Lacy B. Boardwine, four brothers, twin brother Claude, Woodrow, K.B. and Clarence Henderson. Survivors: one daughter, Betty Sadler and husband Dave of Marion; one son, Charles B. Boardwine and wife Vivian of Saltville; seven grandchildren and spouses, Linda and Steve Routh of Saltville, Anne and Dean Call of Saltville, Joe and Linda Eller of Chilhowie, Darrell and Renee Eller of Glade Spring, Michael C. and Pamela Boardwine of Richmond, Larry W. and Roxanna Boardwine of Gastonia, N.C., and Malinda B. and Paul Worley of Abingdon; 10 great- grandchildren; two sisters, Nancy H. Dillard was born on Nov. 19, 1941, in Osaka, Va. He had resided in Kingsport for over 35 years with his wife and constant companion, Sally. They were hairdressers and co-owners of Dilly’s Curiosity Shop. He was preceded in death by his son, David Simon Clark, and his parents, Denver Herman Clark and Ruby Nell Clark. Roy was a retired dairy farmer and a U.S. Army veteran, serving in the 5th Bomber Group, Tokyo, Japan during World War II.
