In addition to his parents, Isaac is survived by his maternal grandparents, Huey and Linda Long of Shady Valley; paternal grandparents, Alan and Cathy Averill of Pembroke Pines, Fla., and maternal great-grandmother, Hilda Long of Shady Valley. She had lived all but a couple of years in Washington County, Va., and was a member of the Gospel Tabernacle. She and her husband were the owners and operators of the Tastee Freeze of Abingdon. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Carl Casey. Ms. Daniels was retired from K-Mart and was a lifelong resident of Bristol Virginia. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Daniels, brothers, Charlie and Lee Baumgardner, and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Baumgardner. Denton, age 90, of Gate City Highway, passed away Thursday, Aug. 26, 2004, in Johnston Memorial Hospital. He was a lifelong resident of Washington County, Va., and a son of the late Carl A. and Olie Worley Denton. He was a farmer and was on the board of directors of The Farm Bureau and Southern States and served for over 20 years on the Washington County ASC. He was also a member of Mary’s Chapel Methodist Church. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Gladys Sharrett Denton. Mr. Denton is survived by his daughter, Shirley Denton Smith; a sister, Bessie Mae Boling; and a brother, J.C. Denton, all of Bristol Virginia; three grandchildren, Robin Ann Smith, Mike Denton Smith and Daniel Homer Smith III; five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Weeks BRISTOL, Tenn. – Katie L. Weeks, age 84, went to be with the Lord, Friday, Aug. 27, 2004, at the residence of her daughter, Mary, at 1324 VI Ranch Road, Bristol, Tenn. She was born June 19, 1920, in Russell County, Va., was a daughter of the late Jim and Margaret Robinson White, had made her home in the Bristol area most of her life and was of the Baptist faith. She was a homemaker and the widow of Thurman Weeks. She was preceded in death by a son, Carlos Cecil Weeks, and a grandson, Gerald Barnhart. Survivors include children, Ruth Worley and husband, Fred, Joyce Ann Goodson and husband, Elven, Juanita Maiden and husband, Bobby, Jerry Weeks and wife, Kathy, Patricia Warther and husband, Bob, and Mary Justus and husband, Michael; eight grandsons; four granddaughters; several great-grandchildren and great-great- grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Mary Wells GRUNDY – Mary Elizabeth Whitt Rowe Wells, 86 years of age, departed this life to be with her Lord and Savior Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2004, in St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington, Ky., following a short illness. Born in Pike County, Ky., she was a daughter of the late Lee F. and Flora Reynolds Whitt. Mary Beth was baptized into Christ at Feds Creek Church of Christ in 1948 and continued to serve her Lord and Savior for 56 years at the Grundy Church of Christ and Mountain View Church of Christ. She was a graduate of Feds Creek High School and Pikeville College. After her graduation, she began a career as a public-school teacher in Pike County and Buchanan County that lasted for 35 years. She was a member of the Grundy Church of Christ Butterfly Ladies Group, Ladies’ Sunday School Class and was active in the Grundy Church of Christ Relay for Life Team of the American Cancer Society. She was active in numerous charitable and civic activities and her greatest love was her family. Mrs. Wells was preceded in death by the late Herman T. Wells of Grundy and the late Clinard Rowe of Pikeville, three brothers, Ertle Whitt, Pete Whitt and Leo Whitt, and three sisters, Lola Whitt, Gladys Wheeler and Ruth May. She is survived by two loving daughters, Patty R. and husband Bill R. Belcher of Winchester, Ky., and Leah K. and husband Ralph Good, Lick Creek, Ky.; two loving stepdaughters, Charlotte Wells and husband Charles Vaughn, Christiansburg, Va., and Gerri Wells Saxton, Roanoke; one sister, Leona Giardina, Hurricane, W.Va.; one brother, Rodney L. Whitt, Pageton, W.Va.; four grandsons, Craig Belcher, Joey Belcher, Matt Good and Mark Good; and four stepgrandchidren, Stephen Vaughn, Michael Vaughn, Michelle Saxton and Richard Saxton. She is also survived by four great-great-grandchildren; four stepgreat-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and one special niece, Sue Whitt Branham.
