Born in Tazewell County, Va., she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Carrie Gray Hall Gillespie. She was a member of the Clinch Valley Senior Citizens. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Barnette Sr., and two brothers, Roy Painter Gillespie and William Thomas Gillespie. She was a member of Valley View Freewill Baptist Church and served for 35 years as registrar of the South Ward for the Virginia State Board of Elections. Macy was appointed as the first woman juror to the circuit court in Virginia. Preceding her in death was her husband, Henry Stuart Damron, and parents, Solomon and Matilda Bartley Mullins. Also preceding her was one son, Harve George Damron, and one granddaughter, Carol Baker Dunlap. She is survived by six daughters, Geraldine Damron Baker of Orlando, Fla., Mae Damron Phipps of Geneva, Fla., Faye Damron Duncan of Orlando, Patricia Damron Calhoun of Clintwood, Betty Damron Brahnam of Charlotte, N.C., and Sharon Damron Mullins of Clintwood; five sons, Charles Farrell Damron of Coeburn, Stuart Carroll (Bug) Damron of Covington, Ga., Garry Wayne Damron of Doran, Va., Danny Russel Damron of Roanoke and Don Lee Damron of Clintwood; and one sister, Cebert Bartley Mullins of Clintwood. Davidson ABINGDON – David McDonald Davidson, born Jan. 14, 1951, passed away Thursday, Sept. 9, 2004. David served in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a member of Painter Creek Church of Christ in Abingdon. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marshall and Cora Davidson.
