Arnold, 82, passed away Saturday, Sept. 11, 2004, at Wellmont Hospice House. She was born in Sullivan County, a daughter of the late Robert Emmett and Maggie Cowan Countiss, and was the widow of Charles C. Arnold. She worked at Raytheon for 33 years and was a member of First Baptist Church of Bluff City. Survivors include a daughter, Betty Sue Rouse and her husband Jerry of Neptune Beach, Fla.; a son, Charles Chase "Chuck" Arnold and his wife Connie of Bluff City; a granddaughter, Michelle Rouse Murphy of Red Wing, Minn.; two grandsons, Eric Rouse of St. Augustine, Fla., and Chase Arnold of Bluff City; two great- grandchildren, Joseph and Abigail Murphy; and a sister, Fern Nelson of Bristol. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 o’clock Tuesday evening at Oakley-Cook Funeral Home. The funeral service will be conducted at 11 o’clock Wednesday morning in the Heritage Chapel of Memories in Glenwood Cemetery, with Rev. Michael Pope officiating. Interment will follow. Eden BRISTOL, Tenn. – Clara B. Williams Eden, age 81, 108 Redwood Road, went to be with the Lord Saturday Sept. 11, 2004, at her home. She was born Jan. 16, 1923, a daughter of the late Elihu and Elizabeth Mitchell Williams, and had made her home in Bristol most of her life. She was the widow of George H. Eden and was the former owner and operator of Eden’s Market on Benhams Road. She was a member of Brookside Baptist Church, a 1940 graduate of Abingdon High School and a member of Teamsters Local Union 549. Survivors include her son, George "Tony" Eden and wife Shirley; grandchildren, Samantha Vicars and husband Doug, and Eddie Eden and friend Kela Collins; great- grandson, Chance Vicars; and sisters-in-law, Cosby Carter and Lee Eaton. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews and her special neighbors. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday in Glenwood Mausoleum Chapel, with Rev. Fred Potter officiating. Goodson, of Fairfield Drive, died at 12:05 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 12, 2004, at Laughlin Memorial Hospital. He retired after 40 years of service with Sprint. He was a member of Central Baptist Church. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Martha Lee Hawkins Goodson; a son, Jerry Lee Goodson; a daughter and special son-in-law, Beverley and Archie Moncier; four granddaughters and one grandson-in-law, Adrienne Rebekah Moncier-Hensley and husband, Ronald Hensley, of Greeneville, Jessica Danielle Goodson, Chelsea Leigh-Ann Goodson and Jerrica Tennielle Goodson, all of Greeneville; one sister, Emogene Hicks of Abingdon; one brother, Homer Goodson of Abingdon; several nieces and nephews and sister-in-law, Beulah Goodson Wilson of Abingdon. He was the son of the late Samuel Earnest and Gertie Victoria Large Goodson, and was preceded in death by a daughter, Veda Ann Goodson Smith, on Sept. 12, 1993, a brother, Elmer (Pat) Goodson, and a sister, Ruby Wilson.
