William Roy Calhoun ABINGDON – Mr. William Roy Calhoun, age 71, died Sunday, Sept. 12, 2004, at Johnston Memorial Hospital. Mr. Calhoun was born on Sept. 29, 1932, in Decatur, Ga., and was a son of the late William Roy Calhoun and Byrd Calhoun. He and his wife have lived in Abingdon since 1999. Mr. Calhoun was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served during the Korean conflict, and was a member of the Kiwanis Club of Montezuma, Ga. He had retired as vice president of Community Bank and Trust of Cornelia, Ga., and was also a member of the Level Grove Baptist Church in Cornelia. He is survived by his wife, Loretta J. Calhoun; two daughters and sons-in-law, Janet C.
