Oliver, 55, Bluff City George Stephen Rouse, 57, Chilhowie Eugene P. Wampler, 78, Norton Georgia Neal Blevins SALTVILLE – Georgia Neal Blevins, age 50, died at her home Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2004. She was preceded in death by her husband, Julius M. Blevins. Survivors: one daughter, Sarah Blevins; one son, Julius M. Blevins II and wife, Diana; and her mother, Hazel Neal, all of Saltville; one brother, Sam Neal; one sister, Dolly Lamie; several nieces and nephews and numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. Funeral services for Mrs. Blevins will be conducted at 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 17, 2004, at Henderson Funeral Home, with Rev. Mike Halsey officiating. Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Rich Valley Presbyterian Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6-8, just prior to the funeral service. D.R. Henderson Funeral Home is serving the Blevins family. Larry Neal Booher PITTSBURG, Texas – Larry Neal Booher, 81, passed away Sept. 14, 2004, at his home. He was born in Bristol Virginia April 14, 1923, and is survived by longtime companion, Elaine Jackson and two daughters, Martha Ann Phillips of Apoka, Fla., and Debra Sue Johnson of Winchester, Va.; five grandchildren and four great- grandchildren. Mr. Booher retired after approximately 40 years of carpentry. At his request, no services will be held and, in lieu of flowers, he asked that any donations be made to assist his daughter, Ann Phillips, in her battle with breast cancer. William Roy Calhoun ABINGDON – Mr. William Roy Calhoun, age 71, died Sunday, Sept. 12, 2004, at Johnston Memorial Hospital. Mr. Calhoun was born on Sept. 29, 1932, in Decatur, Ga., and was a son of the late William Roy Calhoun and Byrd Calhoun. He and his wife have lived in Abingdon since 1999. Mr. Calhoun was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served during the Korean conflict, and was a member of the Kiwanis Club of Montezuma, Ga. He had retired as vice president of Community Bank and Trust of Cornelia, Ga., and was also a member of the Level Grove Baptist Church in Cornelia. He is survived by his wife, Loretta J. Calhoun; two daughters and sons-in-law, Janet C. Moody and Dr. Bill Moody of Abingdon, Karen Pearce and Dr. Thomas Preston Pearce of Prague, Czech Republic; a sister, Gary Calhoun Pass of Dunwoody, Ga.; and eight grandchildren, William Michael Moody, Melissa Lynne Moody, Robert McAfee Moody, Elizabeth Grace Moody, David Preston Pearce, Lauren Nicole Pearce, Jessica Leigh Pearce and Andrew Michael Pearce. Born in Buchanan County, he was a son of the late George and Angeline Deel Church. He was a retired coal miner and a member of the PawPaw Old Regular Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Claude, Kilby, Trigg and Phinas; and sisters, Mae Chambers, Effie Church, Rosie Church and Ruby Kiser. Survivors include his wife, Opal Owens Church; two sons, Keith (Jennifer) Church of Birchleaf, Va., and Kim (Jane) Church of Haysi; one daughter, Peggy (Bobby) Smith of Clintwood; five grandchildren, Kennieth, Jade and Dakota Church and Willie and Regina Smith; one brother, George Junior Church of Galion, Ohio; and two sisters, Fonnie Kiser of Galion and Bonnie Dillon of Amhurst, Ohio. Dotson COEBURN – Luther Harold Dotson, 75, completed his earthly journey on Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2004, after a lengthy illness. He was a businessman in the Coeburn area for over 30 years, a devoted Christian and a member of the Davis Chapel Church Coeburn, where he served as deacon as well as superintendent of Sunday School. A member of the Coeburn Masonic Lodge 97 A.F.&A.M. for over 50 years and was preceded in death by his parents, Johnny and Prince Dotson; brothers, Herbert and Emory Dotson; and sisters, Colista Large, Mabel Adkins and Gladys Shapiro. Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Martha Jane Davis Dotson; a son, Jeff Dotson and his wife Cathy of Coeburn; a daughter, Jennifer Dotson Hall of Coeburn; a sister, Corble Ratliff; his granddaughters, Brooke Dotson Mays, Breanne Dotson and Ashley Hall; and several nieces and nephews. Oliver BLUFF CITY – Carl E. "Buddy" Oliver, age 55, died Friday, Sept. 10, 2004, at the residence of his sister in Sandy Hook, Conn. A native of Bluff City, he was the son of Carl J. Oliver, Bluff City and the late Dorothy Jones Oliver. Buddy was employed for many years as a custodian for the Town of Ridgefield, Conn. He was an avid fisherman and an auto race fan. In addition to his father, survivors include two sons, Rick Oliver and his wife Tammy of Winchester, Conn., and Steve Oliver of Brookfield, Conn.; his former wife, Rose Porwitzky Oliver of Brookfield; one sister, Joann Winters of Sandy Hook; two grandsons, Matthew and Dylan Oliver; two nephews, Bill and Mike Laboudy of Sandy Hook; two nieces, Brandy Saunders of Bluff City and Jessica Winters of Sandy Hook. He was a retired coal-truck driver, formerly employed by Paramont Coal Company and Presley Trucking. He was involved with The Gospel Express Program with WLSD Radio Station for several years, and was of the Pentecostal faith. He was preceded in death by his parents, Orbin and Minnie Brock Wampler, a brother, Lester Wampler, and three sisters, Mabeline Brummitt, Marie Gardner and Juanita Gardner. Surviving are a son, Steven Wampler of Norton; a daughter, Brenda Darnell of Norton; a brother, William Carl Wampler of Norton; three grandchildren, Kevin Wampler, Rosemary Hill and Dwight Darnell; and eight great- grandchildren.
