She was born Oct. 7, 1909, in Wise County, Va., to the late Kenneth Edward Lane and Martha Melissa Robinson Lane. She was the fifth of 10 children. She resided in Wise County until 1959, when she moved to Canton, Ohio. After many years of employment in a hospital setting, she retired from Mercy Medical Center. She was a member of Louisville Baptist Church in Louisville, Ohio. She moved to Coeburn in 1999 to live with her daughter, Florence Hilton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, George Blackwell; her second husband, Willis Anderson; a daughter, Betty Hubbard; two sons, Lloyd and Larry Blackwell; three sisters, Dosha Strouth, Italy Hubbard and Dora Baker; four brothers, Fletcher, Earl, Connie and Fred; and one grandson, Paul Hilton. Mrs. Anderson is survived by five daughters, Imogene Campbell of Louisville, Ohio, Kitty Meade and her husband Bernard of Wise, Florence Hilton and her husband Joseph of Coeburn, JoLynn Price and her husband Tommy of Midvale, Ohio, and Sharon Conway and her husband Donald of Canton, Ohio; one son, Jimmy Blackwell and wife Carole of Waynesburg, Ohio; a sister, Pauline Bevins of Mineral, Va.; a brother, Troy Lane of Bristol Tennessee; 33 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Pauline Aiken Bagby ABINGDON – Mrs. Pauline Aiken Bagby, age 94, died Monday, Sept. 27, 2004, at the Westhaven Living Center in Abingdon. She was a former resident of Richmond, before moving to the Abingdon a few years ago. Mrs. Bagby was preceded in death by a grandson, Michael Gotham, and was the widow of John Bagby Jr. She is survived by a son John Bagby III of Richmond; a daughter, Pauline Bagby Gotham of Abingdon; a sister, Phyllis A. Todd of Richmond; five granddaughters, Helen G. Henley of Abingdon, Anne G. Thompson of Harrisonburg, Va., Lee B. Vivarette of Richmond, Sarah P. Bagby of Richmond and Elizabeth Bagby of Charleston, S.C.; nine great-grandchildren; three great- great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Dye CEDAR BLUFF – Mr. Clarence Edward Dye, age 62, of 201 Edgewater Drive, passed away Monday, Sept. 27, 2004, in a Richlands hospital, following a lengthy illness. He was born in Richlands and was the son of the late Howard C. and Dixie V. Hess Dye, both Russell County natives. He had made his home in the Cedar Bluff area most of his life and was a former employee of Bolton Screw Co. of Cleveland, Ohio, and a former coal miner. He attended Honaker High School and was of the Holiness faith. He was a U.S. Army Vietnam veteran and a member of the American Legion. He was born in Hiwassee, Va., and was the oldest of 12 children. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in World War II. Mr. Goad retired as a sales manager for Kern’s Bakery, where he was employed for 33 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Tony and Frances Wright Goad; four brothers, Gene Goad, Harold Goad, Charles Frank Goad and Alvin Goad; and a sister, Mary Frances Goad. Fannie Stumpp Lowe Mrs. Fannie Stumpp Lowe, age 92, passed away Monday, Sept. 27, 2004, in a Richlands hospital, following a lengthy illness. Born Aug. 19, 1912, in Richlands, she was the daughter of the late John Michael and Martha Hickman Stumpp. She had lived most of her life in Richlands and Cedar Bluff. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie W. Lowe in 1997, and several brothers and sisters. Until her illness, she was an active member of the Trinity Assembly of God in Cedar Bluff. She was a devoted homemaker and her children remember her as an outstanding example of Christian motherhood and self-sacrifice. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Robert (Janice) Moore of New Castle, Del.; two sons, Gerald W. Lowe and wife Din of Fort Collins, Colo., and Donald B. Lowe and wife Janice of Abingdon; one granddaughter; three grandsons; three great- grandchildren; two sisters, Zola Stumpp of Richlands and Martha Cordle and husband James of Cliffield; and several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
