She was a native and lifelong resident of Sullivan County. She was a member of the Blountville United Methodist Church and the U.M.W. She was preceded in death by her husband, Perry Louis Blackburn, in 2000, and one grandson, Brian Eugene Blackburn in 1979. Peggy is survived by two daughters, Barbara Henry and husband E.B. and Marcella Stidham and husband Jimmy; two sons, Louis Blackburn and wife Charlotte and Tony L. Blackburn and wife Sally, all of Blountville; 10 grandchildren; 14 great- grandchildren; three sisters, Carolyn Barnes and Louise Deatherage, both of Kingsport, and Mable Cook of Jacksonville, Fla.; her brother, Jack McCroskey and wife Wrenda of Blountville; also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be 6-8 p.m. Saturday at the East Lawn Funeral Home and any time at her residence. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at the Blountville United Methodist Church, with Reverend James Henry and Reverend John Anderson officiating. Bridgman BLUFF CITY – Delmer Eugene Bridgman, age 61, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 30, 2004, at the Wellmont Bristol Regional Medical Center. Mr. Bridgman was born on Nov. 6, 1942, in Abingdon. He lived in the greater Bristol area all of his life, where he worked as a mechanic for Speedclip for 21 years. Delmer was a very loving and caring man who will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew him. Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Patsy Ann Bridgman; two sons, Mark and wife Ruby Bridgman and Matthew and wife Teresa Bridgman; mother, Irene Ennis; five grandchildren and a brother, Dallas Bridgman. Briscoe, Jr. Dan Edward Briscoe, Jr., 83, of Bristol, Tennessee, and Boca Grande, Florida, died Wednesday, September 29, 2004, in Bristol. He was born in Bristol, the son of the late Dan Edward and Kate Arnold Briscoe, and maintained his primary residence in Bristol all his life. He was a veteran of the United States Navy Air Corps during World War II and was a member of First Presbyterian Church. He was a real estate investor and owned Briscoe’s Motor Inn. Survivors include his wife, Catherine Gray Briscoe; a daughter, Dana Briscoe Robinette and her husband, Joseph Rector Robinette, of Bristol; a son, Cary Gray Briscoe of Bristol; three granddaughters, Catherine Dana Robinette and her husband, Hayden Reign Phillips, Jane Elizabeth Briscoe and Courtney Shannon Briscoe; two grandsons, Joseph Judge Robinette and his wife, Michelle Anne Broglio, and Dan Briscoe Robinette; two great granddaughters, Briscoe Noell Robinette and Mason Cella Robinette; and a daughter-in-law, Joy Graceffo. He was preceded in death by a son, David Edward Briscoe. The committal service and interment will be conducted at 4:30 P.M. Anna Belle Call GLADE SPRING – Anna Belle Call, age 76, died Thursday, Sept. 30, 2004, at her home. Anna Belle was born on July 19, 1928, in Washington County, and was a daughter of the late James E. Thayer Sr. and Mary Sue Thayer. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Hunter H. Thayer Sr., and sisters, Helen Thayer and Ruby Price. She had formerly worked at the Inter-Mountain Telephone Company, the Washington County Bank and was currently employed at Call Brothers of Virginia Inc. in Glade Spring, which her husband has owned and operated since 1952. Anna Belle was a member of Washington Chapel United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the United Methodist Women and had served in various offices. Cooper, age 11, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2004, at the Holston Valley Medical Center from injuries received in an automobile accident. He was born Sept. 13, 1993, in Johnson City. He was a student at Holston Middle School and former student of Avoca Elementary School. He was a member the Boy Scout Troop 32 and was a member of the track team at Holston Middle School. Kristopher was also an active member of Cherokee Rod and Gun Club. Survivors include father, Gary T. Dickenson VENICE, Fla. – Judy Burnett Dickenson, age 79, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2004, at her home following a brief illness. Mrs. Dickenson was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church in Kingsport for over 35 years. She was born in Sweetwater, Tenn., then moved to Knoxville, where she lived throughout her youth. Judy later moved to Bristol Tennessee, where she attended Virginia Intermont College. She then moved to Kingsport in 1968, then moved to Florida in 2000, where she had continued living until her death. Judy was a loving mother and grandmother. She was a special person, who touched many lives. Her greatest joys in life were her children, grandchildren and great- grandchildren, and, in turn, she was loved and adored by them. Judy was a friend to all and will be greatly missed. Mrs. Dickenson was preceded in death by her second husband, Jim Dickenson (December 2003); her first husband, Paul H. Edwards; and her parents, Walter R. and Lillian Burnett. She is survived by her daughters, Lisa Edwards Green and husband David of Kingsport, Robin Adams and husband Jimmy of Bristol; sons, Michael Edwards of Venice, Randall Edwards and wife Nancy of Columbia, S.C., and Gregory W. Born March 15, 1918, in Coeburn, she was a daughter of the late Walter Hall and Lucy Cassell Hall. She was a longtime resident of Bishop, having lived there 61 years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William M. Dye; one daughter, Glylene Brewster; one granddaughter, Kenni Griffith; four sisters, Carrie Kiser, Mag Cassell, Maude Lewis and Erma Hall; five brothers, Gus Hall, Dennis Hall, Earl Cassell, Sam Shannon and Charles Shannon. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Deacon Clarence Charles Wilson departed this life Saturday, Sept. 25, 2004, at Wellmont Holston Valley Hospital in Kingsport, after a long illness. Farris Funeral Service, 427 E. Main St., Abingdon, is serving the Wilson family. Kenneth E. Wood BRISTOL, Va. – Kenneth Edward Wood, age 47, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2004, after a brief illness. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and was an employee of the Virginia Department of Transportation, with 16 years of service, and was of the Baptist faith. Kenneth had a special love for children and animals. Survivors include his mother, Nell Vanover Wood of Bristol Virginia; Betty Wood; three sisters, Carlene Bauer of Bristol Tennessee, Geraldine Anderson of Richmond and Mary Minnick of Bristol Virginia; three brothers, Michael Wood of Seymour, Tenn., John Wood of Navarre, Fla., and Thomas Wood of Abingdon; a special niece, Christine Lamm of Prince George, Va.; a special nephew, Lance Wood of Abingdon; several aunts, uncles, cousins and many other nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. The funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 2, 2004, in the Akard Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Fred R. Minnick officiating. Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tom Farley, Charles Ringley, Jimmy Reynolds, Steve Dingus, Steve Gregory and Jerry Townsend.
