Weaver Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Carl Andre’ Brumme’ MONTVERDE, Fla. – Carl Andre’ Brumme, 81, passed away Oct. 11, 2004. He was born Oct. 28, 1922, in Denmark, son of Carl and Lili (Neuman) Brumme’. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He was a retired Lutheran minister, (Missouri Synod), retiring in 1989, and began snow birding to Florida 10 years ago from Bristol Tennessee. He previously pastored St. John Lutheran Church in Elyria, Ohio, and Trinity Lutheran Church in Bristol. He was a member of Clermont-Minneola Lion’s Club, a former Lion’s District Governor (Virginia), while residing in Bristol, a volunteer at Woodlands Lutheran Camp in Montverde and a member of Woodlands Lutheran Church. His son, Carl Andre’ Brumme’ III preceded him in death. Surviving are his wife, Rose (Woker) Brumme’ of Montverde; sons, Martin (Melissa) Brumme’, Mayton, Pa., Stephen Brumme’, Santa Rosa, Calif., and Philip (Amanda) Brumme’, Sonoma, Calif.; daughters, Margo Brumme’ and husband David Willette, San Francisco, and Rebecca Brumme’ and husband Silas Huey, Santa Rosa; and eight grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2004, at Woodlands Lutheran Church, with Rev. Dr. Brian Kneser officiating. He was a native and lifelong resident of Bristol and the youngest son of the late James H. and Ruth Prince Cowan Jr. David was an employee of Steel Fab of Abingdon, a member of the Kettlefoot Rod & Gun Club and the Trap Shooting Association. Born Aug. 14, 1930, in Russell County, a daughter of the late George Thomas Mutter and the late Era Cox Mutter, she was the wife of the late James Fletcher Farmer. She was a member of the Lebanon Baptist Church, where she was a Sunday School teacher for 35 years. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her half- brothers and sisters. Survivors include a daughter, Doris Farmer Stoughton and husband Dr. John R. Stoughton, Holland, Mich.; three sons, James C. Farmer and wife Catherine B. Mauney Sr., age 75, died Monday, Oct. 11, 2004, in the Smyth County Community Hospital in Marion, after a lengthy illness. He was born in North Carolina to the late Hugh Bert and Grace Mauney, and was preceded in death by a son, William David "Bill" Mauney, two sisters, Hope Hutchens and Era Lee Slacum, one brother, Phillip Mauney, and a special aunt, Sally Mauney. He had many positions in sales, the last being with Standard Life Insurance Company. He served in the U.S. Navy and was a member of the American Legion. Marguerite Zeigler Mrs. Helen Marguerite Young Zeigler, 84, passed away Sunday night, Oct. 10, 2004, at the Baptist Health Care Center in Lenoir City, Tenn. A native of Pocahontas, Va., and 56-year resident of Tazewell, Va., Mrs. Zeigler was greatly loved by her family and the many children she helped teach and nurture for more than 20 years in the kindergarten program of the Tazewell County (Va.) School System. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Jesse Littleton Zeigler II, of Tazewell. After his death in 1999, she moved to Tennessee until her death. While in Tazewell, she attended the Tazewell Baptist Church for than 50 years and was active in women’s groups and church activities. She enjoyed crafts, especially making quilts and afghans for her family, gardening and spending time with her children and grandchildren, Jesse (Jay) Littleton Zeigler III and his wife Vickie, and their daughters, Amy and Ashley of St. Paul, Va.; Cynthia Zeigler DeMauri and her husband Robert, of Charlottesville, Va., and their son, Stephen of Arlington, Va., Marilyn Zeigler McLaughlin and her husband Samuel, of Knoxville, Tenn., and their son, Matthew McLaughlin and his wife Christina, and her new great-granddaughter, Madelin Anne, of Birmingham, Ala.
