Stallard Baker, 89, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, Oct. 25, 2004, at Indian Path Medical Center in Kingsport, Tenn. Mrs. Baker was a lifelong resident of the Flatwoods Community and a member of Flatwoods Freewill Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her interests included genealogy, reading, gardening, canning and quilting and she was an avid bird watcher. Her love of life took her to many places with her family. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband of 34 years, Roy H. Baker, and parents, George and Minerva Bond Stallard. She was the daughter of the late William Authur "Bill" and Lydia Davis Jones of Rugby, Va. Mae professed a hope in Christ back in the 1930’s, was baptized and joined the Helton Valley Baptist Church. She had lived in Marion since 1947 and was retired from Harwood Manufacturing Company, after working there for 35 years. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Lee, Walter and Fred Jones; and three sisters, Florence J. Sadler, Dora J. Price and Minnie J. Vaden. Mrs. Hardway is survived by one sister, Della J. He was born in Buchanan County, Va., and was a son of the late Leck and Linnie Keen Rife, both Buchanan County natives. He made his home in the Richlands area the past 34 years and was a retired mine foreman with Pittston Coal Corp. for 41 years. He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran and was a member of the Sandy Valley Lodge 17 at Grundy. He was a member of the Richlands Church of God. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Margie Rife. Friends may call after 6 p.m. at the funeral home, where an evening service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Lonnie Patterson "Pat" Viers, age 47, of Route 1, passed away at his home following a lengthy illness Saturday, Oct. 23, 2004. Walworth Patrick Kimmell Walworth, age 25, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 24, 2004, in Knoxville, Tenn., as a result of injuries sustained in a vehicle accident. Patrick was raised in Bluff City and had spent much of the last several years traveling. He was a graduate of Sullivan East High School, where he was a member of the marching band. Patrick was a member of First Christian Church in Bluff City. He will be remembered as a man who lived his life to the fullest and never met a stranger. Survivors include: parents, David and Jeannette Walworth of Piney Flats; brother, Matthew J. Walworth of Knoxville; paternal grandparents, Claire and Marcele Walworth of Colorado; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Edward Wise. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, Oct. 28, 2004, at 6 p.m. at First Christian Church in Bluff City. Honorary pallbearers include: Jonathan Parker, Lance Weeden, Josh Gentry, Jimmy Kinnley and all his friends from Colorado to Florida and Knoxville. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 5-5:45 p.m., prior to the service and other times at the home of his parents at 415 Ridge Court Point, Piney Flats, TN.
