Bart Belcher GRUNDY – Bart Belcher, 88 years of age, of the Lee Town Section of Route 1, passed away Sunday, Nov. 7, 2004, at Ridgecrest Manor Health Care Center, Duffield, Va., following an extended illness. Born in Buchanan County, he was a son of the late Melvin and Julie Caraway Belcher. He was a lifelong resident of Buchanan County, a member of Grundy Church of God, a retired employee of Harman Mining Company and a member of United Mine Workers of America Local Union No. 7025. Mr. Belcher loved to work in his garden, go fishing, study his Bible and go to church. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Ora Mae Ramey Belcher, Route 1, Grundy; one daughter, Juanita Webb, Route 1, Grundy; and one grandson, Steven Eugene Webb, Johnson City, Tenn. Also, he is survived by several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one son, Tilden G. Belcher, two sisters, Betty May and Church Ferrell, and one brother, Reed Belcher. He was a truck driver for Cowan Brothers, where he worked 18 years, and he was a member of the Shiloh Freewill Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Bertie Hensley Love. James Scott Williams CUMMING, Ga. – Mr. James Scott Williams, 35, died Nov. 5, 2004, at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta. A native of Raleigh, N.C., Mr. Williams graduated from Tennessee High School in Bristol Tennessee in 1987 and from East Tennessee State University in 1992. While at East Tennessee State, he was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity and served as president and was on the ETSU Student Council. A Methodist, he was a mentor with the First Call Cancer Group. Mr. Williams was employed in computer software. Surviving are his parents, Ted and Rebecca Williams of Cumming; sister, Beth Ann Williams of Dahlonega; grandmother, Helen Williams of Newton Grove, N.C.; aunts, Kay Frances Williams of Raleigh, Donna and John Morton of Cumming, Betty and Jackie Walker of Hope Mills, N.C., and Diane Butler of Dunn, N.C; and a nephew, Zachary Canter of Dahlonega. Woodard has gone to be with the Lord. Douglas was a sergeant in the U.S. Marines, having served in the Vietnam War. He was a Disabled American Veteran and was past post commander of the Abingdon DAV. He was preceded in death by his parents, John E. and Thelma Neal Woodard, a brother, John C. "Buddy" Woodard, and a brother-in-law, William Buckles. Survivors include his wife, Barbara Woodard, Saltville; a daughter, Missy Woodard, Saltville; a son and daughter-in-law, Travis and Melissa Woodard, Deltona, Fla.; grandchildren, Holly and Emma Woodard, Deltona; a sister, Mary Ann (Billie) Guessetto, Titusville, Fla.; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Betty Woodard Owens, Joe and Debbie Buckles, Peggy Buckles and Betty and Allen Minton; and several nieces and nephews.
