Stanley Wayne Cox BLUFF CITY – Stanley Wayne Cox, age 33, passed away on Monday, Dec. 20, 2004, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Psalm 46:1 - God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Wayne worked for Sullivan County School System. He was a devoted husband, father, son and brother. He was an active member and deacon of Landmark Church, Bristol Tennessee. Survivors left to cherish his wonderful smile include: wife of 13 years, Barbara (Barbie) Hinkle Cox; daughters, Courtney Ellen Cox and Chloe Brianne Cox; parents, Jim and Bernice Cox; grandmother, Mildred White; sister, Karen McNew; brother, Allen Cox and wife Wilma; father-in-law, Clyde Hinkle and extended family; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; as well as a host of friends. He was preceded in death by grandparents, Edward and Velma Cox, and grandfather, Rev. Roy White. Miss Price was born on April 1, 1928, in Sullivan County to the late Samuel Crosen and Verlie Grace May Price. She was a member of the Greenwood Baptist Church and was preceded in death by two brothers, Cecil Price and Earl Price. Miss Price is survived by: three sisters, Mae Wright, of Abingdon, Eva Widner, of Bristol Virginia, and Francis Widener, of Bristol Tennessee; two brothers, Alferd Price, of Bristol Tennessee, and Cliff Price, of Bristol Tennessee; and several nieces and nephews. Charles W. Walters BRISTOL, Va. – Charles W. Walters, age 73, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2004, at 5:30 p.m. in the Wellmont Hospice House. Mr. Walters was of the Baptist faith. He served in the Army and was a veteran of the Korean War. Charles is survived by his wife, Mildred Walters of the home; his daughter, Robin Walters of Bristol Tennessee; three grandsons, Scott Sennet Jr., Christopher Sennet and Jeffrey Jones, all of Bristol Tennessee; one great- grandson, Gavin Sennet; four sisters, Ethel Goss of West Virginia, Francis Pollack of Pennsylvania, Mary Aliff of Ohio, and Grace Eller of West Virginia; a brother, Jimmy Walters of Pennsylvania; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 26, 2004, at the Oak Hill Funeral Home in Kingsport. Ward MARION – Pauline M. Ward, age 86, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2004, at the Smyth County Community Hospital. She was born in Smyth County to the late Henry Adam and Laura Elizabeth Musser, and was preceded in death by her first husband, the father of her children, Estle (Eck) Hash, and her second husband, Roy Ward Sr. She was also preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters. She was of the Baptist faith and worked at Harwood Manufacturing for many years. Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Charles Edward and Norma Hash, Bristol Tennessee; one daughter, Shirley Ann Hash Starkey, Atkins, Va.; two sisters, Elsie Evans, Groseclose, Va., and Helen Lightner, Hagerstown, Md.; five grandchildren, Debbie Buchanan, Jimmy Starkey and wife Lisa, Pam Dillman, Linda Parks and husband James, and Rhonda Lemmon and husband Roger; five great- grandchildren, Samantha Starkey, Bobbi Dillman, Katlyn Lemmon, Zachary Lemmon and Seth Lemmon; three stepdaughters, Janice Ward, Linda Lewis and Pearl Anderson; three stepsons, Roy Ward Jr., David Ward and Dennis Ward; and several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren also survive. James Williamson BRISTOL, Tenn. – James McDonald Williamson, age 78, formerly of Harriman, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2004, at Wellmont Hospice House. He was preceded in death by parents Willie Lee and Ona Lee Williamson, brothers, Clyde T and C.M. "Bill" Williamson, and sister, Hazel Lee Williamson Lewis. He served for 31 years as a music educator, having taught band in the Harriman City School System for 20 years. He was a member and longtime choir director of Harriman United Methodist Church, a member of Harriman Lions Club, past president of Harriman Teachers Association, past secretary of East Tennessee School Band & Orchestra Association, band director emeritus of the Babahatchie Community Band and a member of Phi Beta Mu. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Survivors: wife, Etta Jane Williamson of Bristol; sons and daughters-in-law, James E. and Tammie Williamson of Nashville and Zachary Lee and Mary Williamson of Kingston, and son, Wiley Kenneth Williamson of Bristol; and nine grandchildren.
