Cox BRISTOL, Tenn. – Johnny E. Cox, age 54, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2004, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was a lifelong resident of Bristol and had worked at Seaman Corporation for 18 years. Mr. Cox enjoyed gardening and loved country music. Survivors include: wife, Joyce A. Born on Feb. 7, 1934, in New York state, she was a daughter of the late Robert Hayden Lambert and Edith Vail Lambert. Patricia was also preceded in death by a brother, Robert Hugh Lambert, and a sister, Barbara Lounsbury. She and her husband had made their home in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where she was employed by the Tulsa Union School System After moving here, she had worked at Gordon Garment for over 17 years. Patricia was a member of the Riverside Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband of 29 years, David Howell; a son, Wayne Emmert and wife Kathy of Bluff City; two daughters, Debbie Rosenbalm of Bluff City and Jackie Carrier and husband J.H. of Bristol Tennessee; a brother, Tom Lambert and wife Julia of Bluff City; two sisters, Marion Yetter and husband Warren of Charlotte, N.C., and Sandra Montague and husband Angelo of Middlesboro, N.Y.; four grandchildren, Chris Hudson, Tina Leonard, Mandy Whaley and Lisa Pack; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was born Dec. 10, 1918, in Scott County, Va., to the late William Frank and Ida Puckett McClain. He was a retired foreman for R.G. Pope Construction. He was a member of Walnut Hill Presbyterian Church. He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran serving from 1941-1945, and was widowed by his wife, Nettie Rouse McClain. He is survived by: daughter, Shirley M. Leek; son, Glen W. (Billy) McClain and wife Niki; grandsons, Glen W. McClain and wife Lori, Matthew S. Leek and wife Shelly, and Jason B. He worked 30 years for Bethlehem Steele Company in Baltimore. He was active in the Democratic Party and was of the Baptist faith. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one sister, Odessa Jean Musick, and two brothers, Curtis and Hurless Musick. Mrs. Newman was born on April 28, 1919, a daughter of the late Joseph A. and Anna C. Hale Boohr. Mrs. Newman was retired from Imperial Reading and was a member of the Beildeman Presbyterian Church.
