She was born in Washington County, Va., to the late Franklin and Rosa Worley. She was a native of Washington County, Va., and a former resident of Bristol Tennessee. She was 91 years old, a retired homemaker, hardworking farmer and an ethusiastic flower gardener. She was a member of Community Baptist Church. Viola, also known to many as "Nell", passed away peacefully in her sleep, following a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's. Her husband, Charles Willard Anders, preceded her in death. Survivors include Grace Musick, daughter; Michael Mosberg II, grandson and wife Brenda; Monica Marshall, granddaughter and husband Bobby; Mickey Mosberg, great- grandson and wife Julie; and Morris Mosberg III, great-grandson; also, step- great-grandchildren, Chadd Smith, Michelle Whitaker and Jennifer Ewart; step- great-great- grandchildren, Corinne Leonard, Sarah Campbell, Chase Ewart and Kyle Ewart. Viola is also survived by her sisters, Mrs. Blender Thomas of Pennsylvania, and Eula Maye Hall; and by many dear nieces, nephews, family and friends. Her family would like to extend a special thank you to her former caregivers, Karen Matthews, Stella Sproles and Virginia Duncan. Also, our sincere thanks to the staff of Valley Health Care Nursing Home in Chilhowie. We cherish our memories of her before her illness. An intelligent, vivacious and tender-hearted lady, who will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Born on May 9, 1926, in Wilder, Va., he was the son of the late Rufus and Georgia Smith Breeding. On Dec. 18, 1948, he married Elizabeth Ann Musick. Mr. Breeding was a long-time dairy farmer in Cleveland and a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps from World War II. He also spent 12 years as a Russell County deputy sheriff and retired from the Virginia Department of Corrections. He was a member of Clinchfield Baptist Church and was known as a very hard worker, who loved his family dearly. He will be loved and missed. In addition to his parents, one brother, Claude Breeding, and one sister, Pauline Brown, also precede him in death. Survivors include his wife, Ann Breeding; son, Gary Breeding and wife Nancy of Cleveland; daughters, Gail Senter of Greeneville, Tenn., Sandra Welton and husband Barry of Evergreen, Colo., and Brenda Willis and husband David of Roanoke,; grandchildren, April Estrada, Elaine Simonsen, Justin and Suzanne Senter, Benjamin and Mitchell Willis and Tarah and Kelly Welton; great- grandchildren, Reagan Estrada, Bryson Senter and another one on the way; brothers, Rufus Jr., J C. and Jakie Breeding; sisters, Kathleen Stowers, Stella Hooper and Cora Johnson; and special friend, Odell Kiser. The gates of heaven opened up on Jan. 11, 2005, and the angels made a flight to pickup Ronnie, another one of their angels, for his flight into heaven. Mr. Chapman was born 55 years ago to the late Bill and Grace Chapman of Blountville. He was preceded in death by one brother, C.W. "Buddy" Chapman; three sisters, Louise Oliver, Willie Jo Montgomery and Geneva Chapman. Mr. Chapman leaves behind with broken hearts: wife, Gwendolyn "Nell" Chapman of the home; daughters, Sharon Dickenson, Amy Makris and Roni Renee Chapman; son, Matt Folkner; very special grandsons, Josh, Paul, Phillip and Matthew; and and a very special expected Peyton; brothers, Roy Chapman, Bill Chapman and Mike Chapman; sisters, Frieda Woods, Shirley Shepherd, Patsy Mink, Edna Krtausch, Carolyn Mann and Jean Harr; and special friends, Gary and Kathleen Buckles, Sam Mongle, Mike Tipton and Ricky Osborne. She was a retired employee with the Bristol Tennessee School System and was of the Christian faith. Funeral home info • -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Smith Jr., Olen "Doc" ABINGDON – Mr. Olen "Doc" Smith Jr., age 83, passed away peacefully Sunday morning, Jan. 9, 2005, in Johnston Memorial Hospital, with his loving and caring wife, stepdaughter and step-grandson at his bed side. He was born May 21, 1921, to the late Virginia Lee and Olen Smith Sr., Meadowview. He was also preceded in death by twin brothers, Marvin and Marion Smith. Prior to World War II, Olen "Doc" served in the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC). He was drafted in to the military forces and assigned to the Tuskegee Institute. Later he was assigned overseas to Italy with the 332nd Fighter Group, was an aircraft mechanic and remained there till the end of World War II. He was one of the original Tuskegee Airmen. After being discharged from the service, he went to Erie, Pa., where he worked for General Motors. He was a member of the Shiloh Baptist Church, where he served as a teacher and a trustee. He was on the board of the day care center and an honorary member of the American Legion. After coming back to Abingdon, he was a deacon and Sunday School teacher of the First Baptist Church, Meadowview, where he was a loyal member until his last illness. Olen "Doc" is survived by his wife, Ethel Baker Smith; one daughter, Patricia Smith; one granddaughter; four grandsons; four great-grandchildren; one stepdaughter, Ellen Carter; three step-grandchildren; one sister, Viola Daniels and husband Ely, Colorado Springs, Colo.; three nieces; and six nephews. The funeral service will be conducted Thursday, Jan. 13, 2005, at 2 p.m., in the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Rev. Lafayette Vance, Rev. Andrew Arnold, Rev.
