She was the daughter of the late Thomas R. and Kate Boger Phelps. She was a devoted nurse for many years. During World War II she was a wing inspector with the Signal Corps. She was preceded in death by one brother, Orbin S. Phelps. She leaves behind one son and daughter-in-law, George Woodrow and Jessica Jones of Cartersville, Ga.; three sisters, Jane Flannagan of Abingdon, Shirley Liard of Sugerland, Texas, and Ella Pendleton of Abingdon; five grandchildren, Danielle, Deanna Scott, Denise and Shawn; and three great-grandchildren, Kevin, Reaunah and Sarah. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 22, 2003, in the Campbell Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Knollkreg Memorial Park.
