She was born in Redbank, Pa., a daughter of the late Stephen and Elizabeth Smith Hardy, and after her marriage lived in East Pittsburgh and Buffalo, N.Y. The family moved to Bristol in 1970 when Mr. Kirschner formed his business, Virginia Insulated Products, in Saltville. Bobbie was known in the community for her volunteer work, especially with Bristol Nursing Home. She was an accomplished artist and charter member of the Bristol Art Guild. For many years she taught Children's Church at Redeemer Lutheran Church, where she was a member. She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Andrew Kirschner of Bristol Virginia; a daughter, Sondra Kirscher Alan, Esq., of Bristol Virginia; a son, Paul Brian Kirschner of Lindell, Va.; four grandchildren, Gregory Proffitt Alan, Victoria Proffitt, Lindsay Kirschner and Drew Proffitt. She was a devoted foster parent to Bill, Bob, Missy, Billy and Wendy. Special acknowledgements are made to Donna White, CNA, the staff of Bristol Home Health Care and ETSU Family Practice for their devoted care. The family received friends from 6:30 until 9 o'clock Friday evening at Blevins Funeral Home, 417 Lee St., Bristol, Va., and Saturday evening from 7 until 9 o'clock at the Kirschner home, 273 Springbranch Road, Bristol, Va. The funeral service will be conducted at 3 o'clock Sunday afternoon at Redeemer Lutheran Church with Rev. Gary Chenoweth officiating, followed by a reception at the Kirschner home hosted by the Women's Guild of Redeemer Lutheran Church. Burial in the family cemetery in Lindell, Va., will be private. The family has requested that flowers be omitted and that memorial contributions be sent to Bristol Art Guild, 126 Johnson St., Bristol, VA 24201.
