He was born on Jan. 12, 1945, in Topeka, Kan., to Andrew (NMI) and Ella Jackson Kowalchuk. Larry died after a brief battle with cancer. Larry would want all to be comforted by knowing that he is in Heaven with the Great Physician who is his Lord and Savior. He looks forward to seeing all his fellow laborers there. His greatest wish was to have the affirmation from Jesus: "Well done thou good and faithful servant." Major, USAF, retired, with 20 years of service including a flying tour in Vietnam, Larry was a man of God. He was also a beloved husband and father, an Air Force command pilot and Distinguished Flying Cross recipient, a gifted Bible teacher, a talented computer programmer at Christian Medical & Dental Associations and an inspiration to all who knew him. His family includes his wife of 31 years, Patricia (Patti) Jones Kowalchuk of Bristol Virginia; son, Andrew John Kowalchuk and wife Ellen of Dayton, Ohio; father, Andrew Kowalchuk of Whitehall, Pa.; father-in-law and mother-in-law, John Clifton and Linda Zimmerman Jones of Hampton, Va.; brother-in-law, John W. Jones and wife Susan of Richmond; sister-in-law, Linda Jill Jones of Woodside, N.Y.; and many beloved uncles, aunts and cousins. Those he is joining in Heaven include his mother, Ella Louise; daughter, Tanya Louise; sister-in-law, Margaret Jones Stroud; as well as other family members and friends. Funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 20, 2003, at Campground United Methodist Church with Pastor Jerrod McCormick officiating. Military graveside will be conducted following the service at the family cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2003, at the funeral home.
