Leonard Raymond G. "Ray" Leonard, 66, of Bristol Virginia went to be with the Lord Saturday, Nov. 30, 2002, at Bristol Regional Medical Center. Ray was born Dec. 25, 1935, the son of the late Gentry and Mildred Leonard. He was a retired Bristol Tennessee Police Officer, a member of Central Christian Church and Whiteside Masonic Lodge No. 13, VFW Patton-Crosswhite Post 6975, a U.S. Army veteran, serving two tours in Vietnam and in occupied Berlin, and was a recepient of the Purple Heart. Survivors include Linda Webb; two aunts, Mrs. Hobe (Ruby) Hickman and Hellen Denton. Committal and burial with military honors will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 3, in Mountainview Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bill Lewis, George Eden, Lloyd Heaton, Gary Privette, Mike Vance, Keith Vance, Robert Crusenberry and Bob Stuart. E-mail condolences may be sent at www.weaverfuneralhome.net.
