Thomas Pennington, 76, of 200 Old Airport Road, Bristol, Va., went to be with the Lord, Thursday, Nov. 28, 2002, in the Bristol Regional Medical Center. She was born Nov. 1, 1926, in Roanoke and had lived most of her adult life in the Bristol area. She was a retired employee of Bristol Memorial Hospital Housekeeping Department and was a former employee of Hecht's Bakery. She was a member of the Pleasant View Baptist Church in the Wideners Valley Community. She was preceded in death by her father, James E. Thomas; a brother, Charles J. Thomas; and a son-in-law, James Price. Survivors include: husband of 54 years, Luther M. Pennington; daughter, Margie Price; grandson, Robby Price; mother, Edna Widener Thomas; brother, Dean Thomas and wife Ann; step-grandchildren, Carol Warren, Charles Price and Tim Price; and several cousins, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 30, 2002, in the Weaver Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Warren Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in the Mountain View Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Roger Thomas, Randy Thomas, Phil Shipplett, Steve Price, Tim Price, Charles Price, Vilas Sims and L.G. Widener. Honorary pallbearers will be Tom White, Tim Crusenberry, Mike Thomas and Lester Murray. Email condolences may be sent at www.weaverfuneralhome.net.
