She was born in Dante, Va., a daughter of the late Oscar and Felicia Millsap Rudder, and had lived in Bristol since 1961. She was the widow of Waldo Ward Tackett and was a member of Anderson Street United Methodist Church. Survivors include a son, Curtis Tackett and his wife Linda of Bluff City; a daughter, Betty Jean Stone and her husband Roger of Chesterfield, Va.; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be conducted at 8 o'clock Sunday evening in the Paul Cook Memorial Chapel of Oakley-Cook Funeral Home with Rev. Reed Mullins officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 until 7:45 Sunday prior to the service. The committal service and burial will be at 1 o'clock Monday afternoon in Glenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Piney Flats Baptist Church Building Fund, 100 Cherry Road, Piney Flats, TN 37686.
