John Wall and Capt Nicho'l Edmunds Present Church Wardens with Wm Maclin and Drury Stith then Church Wardens for twenty five thousand pounds of tobacco levied and ordered in their hands in the year 1747 for the use of this parrish. Wall 1751 Order'd that William Wych Frances Hainback & John Duke procession all the Lands from Rofes Creek down to the New Court house Road to the Reedy Creek on the North side of Maherrin River ~ Order'd that James Clack Cuthbert Smith & James Parham to procession all the Lands between the New Court house Road near Rofes Creek & the Smoaky Ordinary Road down to the Trading path. Order'd that John Petway, Isaac H..? & Isaac Collier To procession all the Lands from the Smoaky Ordinary Road down to Sweads Bridge on the South side of Nottaway to the Lower Cutt Banks & from thence to the Smokey Primary. The Rev'd Mr. George Purdee being Accepted as a person fit to be a Minister of this Parish it is Order'd that the said Purdee receive the Sallary (sic) par q.? Liberty & property due to a Minister by the Laws of the Realm. Upon the motion of John Wall, John Willis, Nathaniel Edwards & Henry Simmons Gent. They also desired that it might be enter'd they did not think the Rev'd Mr. George Purdee fit for a Minister of this parish & that they did not Accept of him for the same ~ Order'd that Sarah Peny be allowed five hundred pounds of Tobacco towards supporting her. Order'd that Middleton Shaw be paid five hundred pounds of Tobo towards his support. Order'd that the Church Wardens Employ a proper person to carry back Richard Moore to the place from whence he came he having not a Legal settlement in this parrish (sic), at the expense of the said Parish. Edward Goodrich William Smith and Joel Mabry procession all the Lands between Simon's branch and Kettle Stich Chappel between Nottoway River and Sweed's Road, thence down to Sweed's Bridge. Ordered that Sampson Lanier William Thornton and James Parham procession all the lands from the mouth of Reedy Creek down to Chapman's Ford thence along Chapman's Road to Allen's Mill thence up the Three Creeks to the Smoaky Ordinary Road and along the same to the Widow Edward's. Ordered That John Collier, Thomas Lanier and David Peoples procession all the Lands between Sweed's Road and the Three Creeks from the Smoaky Ordinary down to Maclin's Road. Ordered that Thomas Collier, Thomas Harris and Henry Bailey procession all the Lands below Maclin's Road between three Creeks and Sweed's Road down Allen's Road thence down the said Road to the County Line. Ordered that Maj'r Nicholas Edmunds and John Parrish Executors &c of James Parrish deceased pay Colo John Wall Church Warden of Maherrin Parrish out of the money due from the Estate to the Parish thirty pounds and three farthings in full of their proportion of the Estate. Ordered that Drury Stith Gent out of the money due from him to this Parish pay Thomas Gunter five pounds for his support towards his cure. Ordered that Maj'r Nicholas Edmunds pay Clack Courtney out of the money he has in his hands one pound five shillings for his visit Medicines and attendance to a Orphan Boy. And make return thereof according to law. Ordered that John Ross, Robert Campbell and George Clarke Procession all the Lands between Harrison's Road the Great Creek Tatam's Road and Junckatapurse Road. And make return thereof according to Law. Ordered that William Thornton, Curthbert Smith and Robert Hicks Procession all the Lands between Stith's Road, Kittle Stick Road, the Maherrin Church Road, Jackson's Road and the Courthouse Road. Ordered that Samuel Lanier, Adam Sims and Ralph Jackson Procession all the Lands between Jackson's Road, the Reedy Creed, Maherrin River and the Road to Allen's Mill on the South side of the Three Creeks. Jno. Tucker & Mrs. and Richard Field which we could not find the persons preasant (sic) at the same time or their agents which service occupyd (sic) our attention about Three days which we report this 22 day of April 1816. Sturdivant To the worshypfull (sic) Court of Brunswick County ~ We the undersigned commissioners have . able to an order of said Brunswick Court dated June Court 1815, processioned all the lands from Ingram's ford on Wagna Creek up to Jones Road between the said Wagna and Nottoway River, the persons owning the said Lands being present at the time. We do also state that we were fore (sic) days processioning of the said Bounds which amounts to four Dollars each. Given from under our hands this 5th day of April 1816.
