VA Transcription of Document from Virginia Land Office Index, Microfilm located at Dallas Library 8th floor, Genealogy section Thomas Harris, Williamsburg, Brunswick County, Virginia 1770, 398 acres George the Third - To All - Know ye that for diverse good causes and considerations but more especially for and in consideration of the sum of Forty Shillings of good and lawful money for our use paid to our Receiver General of our Revenues in this our Colony and Dominion of Virginia, We have given granted and confirmed and by these presents for us, our heirs and successors Do give grant and confirm unto Thomas Harris one certain tract or parcel of land containing three hundred and ninety eight acres lying and being in the County of Brunswick on the lower side of little Cedar Creek and bounded as followeth, to wit, Beginning at Hightower's corner on the said Creed thence by his line north fifty four degrees East two hundred and twelve poles to hi corner white oak north thirty five degrees west two hundred and thirty two poles to his corner on Cedar Creek at the mouth of a branch thence up the meanders of the said branch to Hightower's corner poplar on the same thence by his line South sixty degrees east one hundred and sixty four poles to his corner white oak on mountain branch thence up the said branch as it meanders to a white oak on the same south fifty five degrees east eighty eight poles to a Chestnut Oak south twenty degrees west one hundred and forty four poles to a black jack north eighty four degrees west eighty poles to a black jack north thirty three degrees west eighty eight poles to a red oak on a branch thence south seventy eight degrees west one hundred and eighty eight poles to a white on Cedar Creek thence down the said creek to the beginning. With all To have hold and to behold yielding and paying provided ye in witness ye witness our trusty and beloved Norborne Baron de Botetourt our Lieutenant and Governor General of our said Colony and Dominion at Williamsburg under the seal of our said Colony the twenty seventh day of August one thousand seven hundred and seventy in the tenth year of our reign.
