Poarch, in Nansemond County Wednesday morning, were conducted Saturday at 2:30 o’clock at Philadelphia Methodist Church in Brunswick County by the Rev. Harry Mast assisted by the Rev. Thomas W. Fryer, of this city, and the Rev. Kelley, of Hopewell. P.B. Holland, of Lawrenceville, sang "Sunrise" and "The Old Rugged Cross," accompanied by Mrs. Mae Hobgood, also of Lawrenceville. The pall was of red roses, white carnations and Calla lilies. Pall bearers were the following grandchildren: Osborne, Drew, and Doyle Phillips, Sydney Connelley, Ronald Watson, N.T. Poarch, Jr., Albert Tatum, and Jesse Langston. Friends of the family as honorary pall bearers. Burial was in the church cemetery.
