All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ HENRY LEE FLOWERS Henry Lee Flowers, 41, husband of Mrs. Evie Louise Forrest Flowers, died at a local hospital yesterday (March 19, 1943) afternoon at 5 o’clock after a short illness. A native of Bedford, Mr. Flowers had been a resident of Alberta for a number of years. He was the son of Mrs. Lula Bell Dickerson Flowers and the late John J. Flowers. Surviving him besides his wife and mother are four daughters, the Misses Lula Louise, Lorraine, Florence Oneida and Joyce Flowers; two sons, James Joseph and Ralph Henry Flowers, all of Alberta; five sisters, Mrs. Nannie Rodell Elmore, of Alberta, Mrs. Violet Ray of Dolphin; Mrs. Dorothy Mae Williams of Rowlings; Mrs. Bertha Inez Jackson and Miss Edna Flowers of Alberta; and a brother, C.R. Flowers of Danieltown. Mr. Flowers was a member of the Church of God, Roanoke. The body will be taken from the funeral chapel of James V. Derry, 1920 Colley Avenue and forwarded over the Virginian Railway to Alberta Saturday morning at 8 o’clock. Funeral services and burial will be conducted in Alberta.
