Mrs. Ford was the daughter of the late W. Henry Smith* and Mrs. Emma Powell Smith of Southampton County. She was a member of Hebron Baptist Church until her marriage when she transferred her membership to Prospect Methodist Church in which she worked faithfully. Surviving are her husband, Robert E. Ford, six children, Mrs. Hubert Rawlings of Franklin, Marion, Ethel, Katie, Willie and Edward Ford of Brunswick County and two grandchildren, Rosalind and Hubert Rawlings, Jr. of Franklin. FORD, Southampton Co. native, d. 14 Dec 1934, age 57, interred in Prospect Church Cemetery, Ebony, 16 Dec 1934, "The Tidewater News" (Franklin, VA), Dec. 21, 1934 *Additional information: Her father's name was Henry L. Smith. A Greensville Co. native, he was a deputy sheriff 3 Nov 1868, when he m. Emma T. Powell. (Southampton Co. MB1A:278) Rosalind had an older brother named Wm. H.
