The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net ************************************************************************ I Zebulon Lewis of perfect mind and memory do hereby make and ordain this my last will and Testament in the manner and from to wit: Item I lend unto my beloved wife SANDAL Lewis during her life the Tracts of land whereon I know live called and known by the name of Goodriches Tract together with the following Negroes ~ Tony, Roger, Easter, Aggey, David, Lucy and Phebey, also one black Horse of Chear two work horses ten head choice cattle, ten head choice sheep one half of my stock of hogs also the whole of my Houshold (sic) furniture provided my said wife should never marry, but should she marry I then lend her only one third part of my Houshold (sic) furniture. My further desire is that my wife shall have her Corn ground toal (sic) free during her life time or widowhood. I give unto my said wife forty pounds cash. Item I give and bequeath, to my beloved son Benjamin Lewis the Tract of Land whereon he now lives to be divided from my Tract by the following boundry (sic), beginning on John Gee s line at Morrises Creek thence up the said Creek to a branch thence up the branch to a marked tree at the corner of Benjamin Lewises fence thence a straight line to the ford between my House and Benjamin Lewises house thence up the branch to Benjamin Lewis Land near the muster field. I also give my said son the Balance of my stock of Horses, Cattle, Sheep and Hogs not heron disposed of also all my crop that may be on hand at my death to him and his heirs forever. I do hereby lend to my said son the whole of my Estate both real and personal not herein disposed of to have the same for his sole use and benefitt (sic) Untill (sic) his oldest son comes of the age of twenty one years then I give and bequeath such Estate to be equally divided between all my grand children then living and when his said Oldest son shall have come to the age of twenty one years shall be put in possession of his proportion of the said estate and the other proportions belonging to the other grandchildren shall be held by my said son for his use and benefit (sic) and shall be delivered up to each of them when they shall arrive at the age of twenty one years or shall marry. I do also lend to my said son the Benjamin Lewis my Mill during his natural life and at his death, I give the said Mill to my two Grandsons Nicolas E. Lewis and Edwin Lewis to them and their heirs forever. Item I give unto my Grandson Nicolas E. Lewis all that part of parcel of Land belonging to me on the west side of Shining Creek not herein before disposed of. Item I give unto my Grandson Edward Lewis, the tract of land whereon I now live bounded as follows ~ beginning at a popular tree on Robert Morrises land thence along the said Morrises line to John Gees line thence along the said Gees line to Morris Creek thence along Benjamin Lewis line, Mitchells line, Howards line, Williams line to Shining Creek thence down the said Creek to the beginning. I also give my said Grandson my Still when he shall arrive at the age of twenty one years to him & his Heirs forever. Item I give my Grand daughter Lucy Lewis one hundred pounds in cash which my son is to keep untill she arrives of age or marrey (sic) and then to be delivered her by my said son. Item I give to my Grand daughter Elisebeth Sandal Lewis one hundred pound in cash to be kept and deliverd in the same manner by my son when she shall arrive of age or marry. Item I give unto Elisebeth Lewis thirty pounds cash. Item I give to Polly Smith twenty five pounds cash. Item I give to my two Grandsons Henry Lewis & Zebulon Lewis all my out standing Debts & money on hand at my death after paying my just debts and the Legaceys (sic) heretofore mentioned which said money & debt shall be taken by my son Benjamin Lewis and laid out in Land which shall be equally divided between he said Henry & Zebulon Lewis this I give to them and their heirs forever. I do hereby constitute and appoint Benjamin Lewis, John Organ and Nicolas Edmunds Ex ors of this my last will and Testament revoaking (sic) and disannulling all former wills by me made. And on the motion of Benjamin Lewis one of the executors thereon named he having made oath thereto&&&Bond $50,000.
