Davis GRUNDY -- Raymond E. Davis, 63 years of age, of the Wolford area of Route 1, passed away Saturday, March 15, 2003, at Buchanan General Hospital following a short illness. Born in Buchanan County, he was a son of Mrs. Lula King Davis of Hurley, Va., and the late Cecil Lee Davis. He was a life-long resident of Buchanan County and a member of Ratliff Chapel Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and Sunday School teacher. He was a retired truck driver. Mr. Davis is survived by his wife, Mrs. Nell Stacy Davis, Route 1, Grundy; three daughters, Debra and husband, Robert Allen Owens, Feds Creek, Ky., Lois Ann and husband, Drey Johnson, Burlington, N.C., and Gail and husband, Greg Hackney, Hurley, Va.; one son, William Lee and wife, Sandy Davis, Wolford; one sister, Pauline Morrell, Knoxville; and three grandchildren, Johnny Lee Davis, Wolford, Kyle Lee Johnson, Burlington and Jennifer Jo Johnson, Burlington. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, March 18, 2003, at 11 a.m. at Ratliff Chapel Baptist Church at Tookland with Rev. Rick Ellis officiating with burial to follow in Mountain Valley Memorial Park, Big Rock, Va. Friends may call at Ratliff Chapel Baptist Church Monday afternoon at 5 p.m. with services at 7 p.m. Active pallbearers will be Ralph Keene, Toddy Ratliff, Robert Owens, Millard Keene, Drey Johnson, Fred Stacy, Greg Hackney, Ked Stacy and Truitt Justus. Grundy Funeral Home of Grundy is in charge of all arrangements.
