Born in Buchanan County, he was a son of the late Willie and Verda Justus Dotson. He was a life long resident of Buchanan County and was a retired coal miner and owner and operator of E. Dotson Trucking Company. Mr. Dotson is survived by his wife, Mrs. Eleanor Beatrice Rowe Dotson, Hurley; three sons, Jackie M. and wife, Connie Dotson, Hurley, Mark A. and wife, Debbie Dotson, Hurley and Richard A. Dotson, Hurley; one daughter, Shirley C. and husband, Dorse Tester, Paw Paw, Va.; one half sister, June Dotson Hensley, Lebanon; and two granddaughters, Lisa R. Dotson and Amanda C. Tester. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Dexter and Rell Dotson; one sister; and stepmother, Hazel Dotson. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, Dec. 12, 2002, at 1 p.m. at Grundy Funeral Home Chapel with Evangelist Michael Trent and Rev. Donnie Prater officiating with burial to follow in Mountain Valley Memorial Park, Big Rock, Va. Friends may call at Grundy Funeral Home Chapel Wednesday evening at 6 p.m. with services at 7 p.m. Active pallbearers will be family and friends. Grundy Funeral Home of Grundy is in charge of all arrangements.
