Born in Buchanan County, she was the daughter of the late Burl Hobson and Rebecca Hattie Looney. She was a member of the Liberty Church of Christ and was baptized into Christ in 1958 at the Vansant Church of Christ. She was a homemaker and a retired businesswoman. Mrs. Hill is survived by her husband, Evangelist Jim Hill of Vansant; two daughters, Beverly Gay Hagy of Vansant and Angela Kay Hill-Richmond of London, England; three sons, James Dean Hill of Sacramento, Calif., Stephen Paul Hill of Richmond and Clarence Edward Hill of Arlington, Va.; four sisters, Virginia Church of Vansant, Dessie Amburn of Burkeville, Va., Delores Colley of Abingdon and Mildred Blaylock of Blountville; two brothers, Arlet Looney of Harman, Va., and Bence Looney of Glen Rock, Pa.; one grandson, Harley D. Hill- Richmond of London, England; and one granddaughter, Phoenix Hill-Richmond of London, England. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, Jan. 10, 2003, at 1 p.m. at the Liberty Church of Christ with Evangelists Johnny Elmore, Bill Reece and Charles Bowling officiating with burial to follow in the Mountain Valley Memorial Park at Big Rock, Va. Friends may call at the Grundy Funeral Home after 5:30 p.m. Thursday and there will be an evening service at 7 p.m. Mrs. Hill will be moved to the Liberty Church of Christ one hour prior to the funeral hour. Active pallbearers: Ernest Natera, Randy VanDyke, Bobby Hill, David Street, Rod Cury, Matthew Compton, David Compton, Noah Horn and Buddy Hill.
