Born in Buchanan County, she was a daughter of the late John and Victoria Hackney Hogston. She was a life-long resident of Buchanan County and a member of Seventh-day Adventist Church. Miss Hogston is survived by two special nieces, Ocie Matney Beach, Oakwood and Delphia Davis, Oakwood; one sister-in-law, Lola Hogston, Vansant, Va.; also survived by several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by six brothers, Dile, Fonnie, Carl., Earl, Lauch and Fonso Hogston. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, March 27, 2003, at 2 p.m. at Grundy Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor John Baker officiating with burial to follow in the Matney Cemetery on Dismal, Route 1, Oakwood. Friends may call at Grundy Funeral Home Chapel Wednesday evening at 6 p.m. with a song service at 7 p.m. Active pallbearers will be nephews. Honorary pallbearers: Dr. H.J. Patel, Dr. D. Patel and Heritage Hall Nursing Home personnel. Grundy Funeral Home of Grundy is in charge of all arrangements.
