Deel VANSANT, Va. -- Lucille Osborne Deel, 70 years of age, passed away Sunday, Nov. 17, 2002, at Buchanan General Hospital following an extended illness. Born in Russell County, Va., she was a daughter of the late John Larkin and Cansada Duty Osborne. She had been a resident of Buchanan County several years and a member of Little Freedom Old Regular Baptist Church. She was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother and a homemaker. Mrs. Deel is survived by her husband of 54 years, Cecil Deel, Vansant; two daughters, Connie and husband, Arvil Quinley, Rural Retreat, Va., and Sandra Ann and husband Bill Church Jr. of Rural Retreat; four sons, Cecil Jr. and wife Jennifer Deel, Rural Retreat, Scotty Ray Deel, Vansant, Jeffrey and wife Denise Deel, Rural Retreat and Rocky and wife Gail Deel, Rural Retreat; six sisters, Stella Faye Yates, Vansant, Pauline Thompson, Culpeper, Va., Trula Yates, Vansant, Shirley Gibson, Iaeger, W.Va., Judy Carol Church, Vansant and Geraldine Thomas, Grundy; one brother, Elmer Osborne, Vansant; 17 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one sister, Virginia Osborne. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2002, at 11 a.m. at Grundy Funeral Home Chapel with Elders Tommy Deel and Elmer Church officiating with burial to follow in the Deel and Family Cemetery, Rural Retreat, Va. Friends may call at Grundy Funeral Home Chapel Monday evening at 6 p.m. with services Monday and Tuesday evenings at 7 p.m. Active pallbearers will be family and friends. Grundy Funeral Home of Grundy is in charge of all arrangements.
