Sisk RICHLANDS -- Mr. Oliver William Sisk, 91, formerly of the Marvin section of Buchanan County passed away Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2002, at his home following a lengthy illness. Born in Buchanan County, he was the son of the late John Henry and Liddie Davis Sisk. He was a resident of Buchanan County for 84 years before moving to Richlands. He was a former employee of Red Jacket Coal Co. and was retired from Harman Mining Company. He was a member of the U.M.W.A. He was of the Holiness faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Amandalean (Manda) Mutter Sisk; one brother, Charlie Sisk; and one sister, Pearlie Rose. He was a loving and devoted father to: five daughters, Mrs. Thelma Arbogast and husband Troy of Elkins, W.Va., Mrs. Vilven Nelson of Cedar Bluff, Mrs. Ilean Shinall and husband Bob of Richlands, Ms. Joyce Sisk of Richlands and Mrs. Mae Endicott and husband Bobby of Maxie, Va.; seven sons, Fred Sisk and wife Gaye of Richlands, Bill Sisk and wife Phyllis of Winston-Salem, N.C., Brady Sisk and wife Shelia, Bernard Sisk and wife Arleen, Ray Sisk and wife Myrtle, Carl Sisk and wife Jenny and Ira Sisk and wife Sandra, all of Route 1, Raven, Va.; three sisters, Ocie Davis, Goldie Rose and Maria Sisk, all of Route 1, Raven; one brother, Parrott Sisk of Route 1, Raven; 19 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 21, 2002, in the Singleton Funeral Service Chapel in Cedar Bluff with Rev. Bill Fletcher officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenhills Memory Gardens Cemetery at Claypool Hill, Va. Pallbearers will be family. The family will receive friends at the Singleton Funeral Service in Cedar Bluff from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday with a 7 p.m. song service. Singleton Funeral Service of Cedar Bluff is serving the Sisk Family.
