VanDyke OAKWOOD, Va.--Jacqueline (Jackie) Yates VanDyke, 49 years of age, passed away Saturday, Nov. 23, 2002, at the Norton Community Hospital, Norton, following a brief illness. Born in Buchanan County, she was the daughter of Lottie White Yates of Oakwood and the late Clayton J. Yates. She was a lifelong resident of the Oakwood area, a member of the Protestant faith and a homemaker. Mrs. VanDyke is survived by her husband, Danny VanDyke of Oakwood; one daughter, Mandy VanDyke of the home; two sisters, Star Bishop of Rocky Gap, Va., and Rebecca Street of Richlands; and four brothers, Elmer F. Yates of Oakwood, Donnie Yates of Oakwood, Robbie Yates of Oakwood and Ronnie Yates of Oakwood. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2002, at 11 a.m. at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. T.R. Stump and Rev. Jim Clark officiating with burial to follow in the Hess Family Cemetery on Fletcher's Ridge, Va. Friends may call at the Grundy Funeral Home after 6 p.m. Tuesday. Active pallbearers will be Tom Bishop, Chris Endicott, Kenny White, Billy Winchester, Marshall Blankenship, Mike Street, Darrell Blankenship and Travis Adkins. Honorary pallbearers will be cousins. Grundy Funeral Home of Grundy is in charge of all arrangements.
