BUCKINGHAM COUNTY, VA - CEMETERIES – Gordon Cemetery ----¤¤¤---- Source: Library of Virginia Digital Collection LVA Titled Files: Survey Report, Gordon graveyard: 1937 Feb. 5 Research made by Elizabeth McCraw Cemetery Location: 3.5 miles southeast of Andersonville, Virginia, on Route #637, thence 50 yards north of the highway. Buckingham County DATE: 1847. The oldest grave marker. OWNERS: The estate is now owned by W.M. Trent, but originally owned by a Dr. Gordon, who settled in Buckingham about the beginning of the 19th century. DESCRIPTION: There are a number of graves scattered around in this half acre of land, but only the grave of one is marked. This grave is enclosed by an iron fence and a flat marble slab covers the entire grave, and contains the inscription.
