Williams Cemetery Location: 5 miles east of Sprouses Corner on Route #60; thence .1 of a mile south on Route #623; thence east 2.3 miles on Route #634; thence .25 mile north on private road to cemetery. Buckingham County DATE: 1837, land acquired by Guthria family. OWNERS: This cemetery has remained in the same branch of the Guthria family for over 100 years; heirs of Thomas Guthria being the owners at present. (1936) DESCRIPTION: This cemetery is in a terrible state of preservation. Woods, brush, and brambles of every description have grown up in the cemetery, and the one marker found there was down flat on the ground. HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE: The marker reads: Memory of Bettie G. Wife of J.J. Spencer Born December 25, 1837 Died November 16, 1867 Mother Mother Dear we miss you since to Heaven you have gone, you prayed God bless your children, and bring them to the throne, We know that you are happy, and God answers prayers, We mourn our loss Dear Mother and will try and meet you there.
