BUCKINGHAM COUNTY, VA - CEMETERIES – Presbyterian Cemetery ----¤¤¤---- Source: Library of Virginia Digital Collection LVA Titled Files: Survey Report, Presbyterian cemetery: 1937 May 24 Research made by Rosa G. Williams Cemetery Location: .8 mile south of James River Bridge on Route #15; thence .2 mile east on Route #668; thence .3 mile northeast on Route #670, church on north side of highway. Buckingham County DATE: 1855, date of oldest grave marker. OWNERS: Property has been owned by the Presbyterians of that section for 100 years (1937), no records before that date, as all records destroyed by fire. DESCRIPTION: This is a very large cemetery, not very well kept. A few individuals have kept their sections in good condition. There is no fence around this cemetery. There are a good many graves but only two have early dates on them, altho there are lots of graves there of people that were buried prior to 1860. A good many very large oak, pine, and cedar trees still stand in this old cemetery. HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE: Inscriptions on tombstones: James L. H.
