Buckingham County OWNERS: Joe Jones 1773 The Cabell Family, date not known Rolf Glover 1896 A.C. Wood 1903 present owner. (1927) HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE: There is an old cemetery in the garden which is very interesting. There are a number of old grave markers dating back to 1773. Only one has a legible inscription, as follows: To the memory of Samuel Jones Who was born and who lived and died in Buckingham County, this stone, the offering of a brother in greatest affection, is errected. His industry, economy and sound judgment gave him fortune. His wealth of heart and promptness to do good and communicate gave him friends. His love of truth and justice, and the practice of both secured to him respect of the community. Born A.D. 1773 Died ANNO AETATIS 65.
