Winfrey/May Altercation/Death, 1857 - Buckingham Co. VA The following obituary of was transcribed from the Richmond Whig & Public Advertiser (May 29, 1857). The original may be found at the Library of Virginia on microfilm. “MURDER. - An altercation occurred at Buckingham C.H., on Sunday, 17th inst., between George WINFREY, and Robert P. MAY.
