Ward. Will of Charles Cottrell Will Book 1 (1869-1903) LVA Reel 22 Buckingham Co., VA Page 273 will probated 10 June 1793 Page 274 will re-recorded 26 May 1877 In the name of God, Amen. I Charles Cottrell of Buckingham County being sound in mind and memory thanks be to God do make this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following: first I give to my wife Elliner Cottrell two feather beds and furniture two tables Desk chest and skillet to her and her heirs forever all the rest of my estate -----------I lend to my wife during her life or widowhood my will in that all and every one of my negroes be freed at the death of my wife. I give two hundred and fifty acres of land to be equally divided between the whole of my negroes to them and their heirs forever. All the rest of my lands and all my stock and household furniture I give to Richard Cottrell son of Jacob Cottrell to him and his heirs forever. My desire is that there be no appraisement of my estate I do hereby constitute and appoint my wife Ellenner Cottrell my Executrix and my friend Hardin Perkins my Executor to this my last Will and Testament as witness my hand and affixed my seal this fifteenth day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety three.
