Abraham "Dick" Copal was born June 15, 1899 & died March 13, 1947. Mary Myrtle Rorer-Copal died on July 31, 1958. THESE DATES FOR BIRTH & DEATH WERE OBTAINED, DIRECTLY, FROM THE CEMETERY RECORDS AT FORT HILL MEMORIAL PARK. Family Background of "Dick" Copal & his spouse, Mary Rorer-Copal..... "Dick" Copal's parents were David Flournoy Copal & Susan Anna Chisum-Copal of Saxe, Charlotte Co., VA.; David F. Copal was born Feb. 14, 1859 & is buried beside his wife, Susan, in Ash Camp Baptist Church Cemetery in Keysville, Charlotte Co., VA.; David & Susan Copal were married Jan. 8, 1884. Abraham "Dick" Copal was named after his grandfather, Abraham Beauregard Copal of Germany. Abraham was born Feb. 22, 1822, in Germany. He married Prudence Elizabeth Newcomb-Copal on Oct. 30, 1844, in Charlotte Co., VA. Abraham Beauregard Copal died April 9, 1914, in KY Confederate Veteran Home in Oldham Co., KY. He was buried in the cemetery at the site of the Confederate Home. It is located on Maple Avenue in Pewee Valley, Oldham Co., KY Row #1 - Space #12 Mary Myrtle Rorer-Copal, ("Dick's" wife) is buried in the Family plot beside her, father, Escho O. Rorer, (1884-1941) & her husband, Abraham "Dick" Copal. 2) ESCHO O. RORER 1884-1941 This marker is in a family plot in Fort Hill Memorial Park in Lynchburg City, VA Section #1 - Lots 1-10 The Memorial Park is located on 5196 Fort Avenue in the City of Lynchburg in VA This is in the Campbell Co. area. Escho is buried beside the UNMARKED GRAVES of his daughter, Mary Myrtle Rorer-Copal & her husband, Abraham Beauregard "Dick" Copal. 3) MARY SUE MUSGROVE In Loving Memory Sept. 23, 1929 May 16, 1969 Mary is the daughter of "Dick" & Mary Rorer-Copal of Lynchburg, VA Mary Sue Copal-Musgrove is buried in the family plot to the left of her grandfather, Escho O. Rorer, & her husband, Theodore Musgrove. This family plot is located in the Fort Hill Memorial Park, 5196 Fort Avenue, in the City of Lynchburg, VA. Lynchburg City is in the Campbell Co. area of VA These graves are in Section #1, #201 - Lots 1-10. 4) THEODORE W. MUSGROVE CPL US Army World War II Feb. 5, 1928 May 19, 1985 Theodore is the husband of Mary Sue Copal-Musgrove. He is buried beside her in Fort Hill Memorial Park, 5196 Fort Ave., in the City of Lynchburg. Lynchburg City is in the Campbell Co. area in VA These graves are in the family plot in Section #1, #201 - Lots 1-10. 5) In Loving Memory wife and mother MABLE JOYCE HOUSTON November 24, 1924 March 10, 1991 Mable Joyce was the daughter of Abraham "Dick" Copal & Mary Myrtle Rorer-Copal of Lynchburg, VA. Her sister, Mary Sue Copal-Musgrove, is buried above this gravemarker for Mabel. Mabel's husband, Preston Roosevelt Houston, is buried beside her. Their graves are located in the family plot in the Fort Hill Memorial Park in the City of Lynchburg. This is in the Campbell Co. area of VA. Mable & Mary's parents are buried in Unmarked Graves in the plot - Section #1, #201, Lots 1-10. Their grandfather, Escho O. Rorer, is buried just above Mabel & her husband, Preston. 6) In Loving Memory Husband PRESTON R. HOUSTON October 28, 1933 June 5, 1993 Preston Roosevelt Houston is buried beside his wife, Mabel Joyce Copal-Houston. They are buried in the family plot in Fort Hill Memorial Park, 5196 Fort Avenue, in the City of Lynchburg. Section #1, #201, Lots 1-10. Lynchburg City is in the Campbell Co. area in VA
