Hunter-Lindsey. He was born in Charlotte Co., VA, & was 59 years old when he died. His widow was Clora Coleman-Lindsey. Floyd's father was the eldest son of Joseph Samuel Lindsey & Sarah Ann Clementine Copal-Lindsey of Charlotte Co., VA. Joseph was a Confederate soldier in the 44th VA Infantry-Co I, "The Mossingford Rifles," during the Civil War. Floyd & his widow are buried in a family plot with his parents in section #101, in Spring Hill Cemetery, 3000 Fort Avenue, Lynchburg, VA. Lynchburg City is located in the Campbell Co. area of VA. Joseph Samuel Lindsey, Floyd's grandfather, was our gg-grandfather, Abraham Copal's son-in-law. Abraham Copal was born in Germany on Feb. 22, 1822. Abraham fought with Joseph, is son-in-law, in the 44th VA Infantry-Co.I, in the Civil War. ******************************************************** 2) CLORA C. LINDSEY OVERSTREET June 20, 1889 October 14, 1979 Clora Bell Coleman Lindsey-Overstreet died at 90 years of age. Clora's first husband was Floyd Joseph Lindsey. Floyd died on August 19, 1946 in Lynchburg, VA Clora's second husband was Adrian T. Overstreet. Clora was born in Amherst Co., Va, & her parents were Alexanderia & Mary Elizabeth Henson-Coleman. Clora is buried beside her first husband, Floyd Lindsey, in section #101, in Spring Hill Cemetery, 3000 Fort Ave., Lynchburg, VA. Lynchburg City is located in the Campbell Co. area of VA ******************************************************** 3) DOROTHY ELIZABETH LINDSEY September 26, 1925 December 31, 1926 Dorothy was the 15 month old daughter of Floyd Joseph Lindsey & Clora Bell Coleman-Lindsey. Dorothy is buried with her parents & grandparents, Samuel Lewis Lindsey & Hester A. Hunter-Lindsey, in section #101 in Spring Hill Cemetery, 3000 Fort Ave., Lynchburg City, in Campbell Co., VA ********************************************************* 4) ANNIE LINDSAY-LEE-GOODMAN Sept. 19, 1906 July 11, 1995 Gone But Not Forgotten Annie was the youngest daughter of Samuel Lewis Lindsey & Hester Hunter- Lindsey. She was born in Keysville, VA. Her first spouse was George William Lee. George was born on August 14, 1907, in Appomattox. His parents were George Daniel and Willie Brightwell-Lee. George died on May 3, 1968, from a bullet wound . Annie's second spouse was Clarence E. Goodman. Both Annie & George are buried in section #103, in Spring Hill Cemetery, 3000 Fort Avenue, Lynchburg, Virginia. Lynchburg City is located in the Campbell Co. area of VA. ********************************************************** 5) This DOUBLE gravestone reads: LINDSEY SAMUEL LEWIS HESTER ANN Sept. 16, 1860 Dec. 12, 1862 Jan. 13, 1940 Aug. 15, 1957 GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN Samuel Lewis Lindsey was the eldest son of Joseph Samuel Lindsey & Sarah Ann Clementine Copal-Lindsey of Charlotte Co., VA. Joseph was a bricklayer who served as a Confederate soldier in the 44th VA Infantry. Sarah Copal-Lindsey was the daughter of Abraham Copal, of Germany & Prudence Elizabeth Newcomb-Copal, of Charlotte Co., VA. Abraham Copal served with his son-in- law, as a C.S.A. in the 44th VA Inf. Samuel Lindsey's spouse, Hester Ann Hunter-Lindsey was also born in Charlotte Co., VA. Samuel was 79 years of age, upon his death & Hester was 94 years old, at her death in 1957. Samuel & Hester are buried in a family plot with their son, Floyd Joseph Lindsey, in section #101, in Spring Hill Cemetery, 3000 Fort Avenue, Lynchburg, VA. Lynchburg City is located in the Campbell Co. area of VA.
