Candler/Guthree Deed, 1808 Deed Transaction: Daniel Candler, William Candler and James Guthree to James Candler Campbell Co., Virginia, Deed Book 8, p. 272-274 [LDS Microfilm # 0031025] Recorded 11 July 1808 This Indenture made the Sixth day of May in the year of our lord one thousand eight hundred and eight between Daniel Candler of Montgomery County in the state of Maryland and William Candler James Guthree both of the County of Campbell of the one part and James Candler of the same County of the other part Witnesseth that the said Daniel Candler William Candler James Gutthre for and in consideration of the full sum of Three hundred Dollars lawful money of Virginia to them in hand paid the receipt whereof they doth hereby acknowledge hath granted bargained and sold and by these presents doth grant bargain sell deliver and confirm unto him the said James Candler his heirs and assigns forever each of our rights claim or claims of a certain tract of land of Henry Candler deceased containing two hundred and eighty five acres situate in the said County of Campbell on the North head waters of Beeser Creek and bounded as followeth Viz. Beginning at Edmonstons corner red oak thence of north forty poles to a pine North twenty three degrees East thirty poles to pointers on Houstons lines at the edge of a meadow thence along his lines North forty degrees west crossing the meadow branch one hundred and twenty four poles to his corner black Jack North twenty degrees East Sixty eight poles to pointers on Gilliams line thence along his lines South twenty five degrees West Sixty poles to his corner black jack South twenty eight degrees West sixty Six poles to his and [Stemmons?] line South one hundred poles to his corner red oak South forty eight degrees West one hundred and forty poles to Goggins corner shrub white oak thence along Goggins line South thirty five degrees East ninety four poles crossing new Landon road to his corner spanish oak thence of South fifty five degrees East twenty four poles to a chesnut oak South thirty one degrees East thirty five poles to a pine South Seventy degrees East fifty three poles to pointers on Edmonstons line thence along his lines North twenty two degrees East crossing New landon road one hundred poles to his corner chesnut East eighty poles to his corner red oak North fifty six to the first station To have and to Hold the above granted premises together with the appurtenances and priviledges thereunto appertaining with the reversion and reversions remainder and remainders and every part and parcel thereof unto him the said James Candler his heirs and assigns forever and they the said Daniel Candler William Candler and James Gutthre for themselves and their heirs doth covenant grant and agree to and with the said James Candler his heirs and assigns that they the said Daniel Candler William Candler and James Gutthre and their heirs the above granted premises with every of the profits and priviledges thereunto appertaining unto him the said James Candler his heirs and assigns shall and will by these presents warrant and forever defend In witness whereof we the said Daniel Candler William Candler and James Gutthre hath hereunto set their hands and affixed their seals the day and year first above written.
