Terrell Morgan Deed Abstracts, 1814-1837 - Campbell Co. VA 3 Feb 1814 (Book 10, page 296) Joseph & Elizabeth Poindexter sold 735 acres to Terrell Morgan for the sum of $1,000.00. The land lay along Whipping Creek and the Lynchburg Road, and adjoined the property of John Bullock, Dr. John Slaughter, and David Marshall. Witnesses to the deed were William Dickinson, Samuel Pannell, Collins Bradley, Philip Thomas, and Robert Cobbs. Recorded 14 Feb 1814. 7 Feb 1814 (Book 10, page 493) Terrell & Jane Morgan sold 79 acres to James P. Bullock for the sum of 100 pounds. This land was part of the above-mentioned tract, and lay on the south side of Little Whipping Creek. Recorded 13 Feb 1815. 9 Oct 1815 (Book 10, page 603) Terrell & Jane Morgan sold 656 acres to John P. Slaughter and David Layne for the sum of $2,000.00. This land was the balance of the original Poindexter tract. Recorded same day. 8 March 1817 (Book 11, page 198) John & Leney Morgan sold 140 acres to Terrell Morgan for the sum of $420.00. [Note: John and Terrell were brothers.] This land lay on Falling River. Witnesses to the deed were James Willey, Richard G. Marshall, Archibald Stuart, Jr., William Wiley, and Christian Mohr. Recorded 10 March 1817. 9 June 1817 (Book 11, page 243) Jacob & Frances Jones sold 100 acres to Terrell Morgan for the sum of $700.00. This land lay on the northern forks of Seneca Creek, and adjoined the property of William Trent. Recorded same day. 5 Aug 1817 (Book 11, page 274) The heirs of Matthew Moore, deceased, represented by John Organ, William Swinney, Gerard E. Johnson, and Edmund Herndon, sold 100 acres to Terrell Morgan for the sum of $700.00. This land lay on the north fork of Seneca Creek, and adjoined the above-mentioned Jones tract as well as the property of Thomas Cocke, John Lynch, Archibald Blankenship. Recorded 11 Aug 1817. 18 Nov 1817 (Book 11, page 395) Frances Jones relinquished her dower rights to property deeded to Terrell Morgan 9 June 1817. Witnesses to this document were John Organ and Thomas Cocke. Recorded 8 Dec 1817. 12 Jan 1818 (Book 11, page 419) William & Catherine Trent sold 100 acres to Terrell Morgan for the sum of $1,000.00. This land lay on Seneca Creek and adjoined the above-mentioned Jones and Moore tracts, as well as the property of James Johnson, James Wiley, and Pleasant Johnson. Witnesses to the deed were William J. Harvey, Jesse Harvey, Sr., and Thomas Cocke. Recorded same day. 19 May 1818 (Book 11, page 582) Elizabeth Welsh, relict of Matthew Moore, deceased, and now wife of James Welsh of Iredell County, North Carolina, sold 100 acres to Terrell Morgan for the sum of $100.00. This land lay on Seneca Creek and adjoined the property of John Lynch, Sr., and Archibald Blankenship. Witnesses to the deed were Robert Simonsted and John Feimster. Originally recorded in Iredell Deed Book I, page 375, on 8 July 1818. Recorded 12 Nov 1818. 8 Feb 1819 (Book 11, page 620) Henry Blankenship sold 93 acres to Terrell Morgan for the sum of $1,000.00. This land lay on the north fork of Seneca Creek and adjoined the property of Henry Moorman, Edmund Brown, James Johnson, and Archibald Blankenship. Recorded same day. 14 Jan 1822 (Book 13, page 378) Terrell & Dolly Morgan sold land of unspecified acreage to William Stone for the sum of $400.00. It lay on Falling River and was presumably the same tract Terrell acquired from his brother John, above. Witnesses to the deed were Solomon Lindsay, R.B. Blankenship, Ansel L. Johnson, and Thomas Morgan. Recorded 8 July 1822. 24 Feb 1823 (Book 13, page 538) William and Pernela Stone sold 86 acres to Terrell Morgan for the sum of $400.00. This land lay on the north fork of Seneca Creek, being one-fourth of the tract held by William Stone at the time of his death. Witnesses to the deed were Edmund Herndon, David Herndon, and Solomon Lindsay. Recorded 10 March 1823. 15 Nov 1827 (Book 16, page 104) Henry Blankenship sold 93 acres to Terrell Morgan for the sum of $1,000.00. This land lay on the north fork of Seneca Creek and adjoined the land of Edmund Brown, Pleasant Johnson, Archibald & Elizabeth Blankenship, and Henry Moorman. Witnesses to the deed were William J. Harvey & Benjamin Oliver. Recorded same day. 11 May 1829 (Book 17, page 177) Henry T. & Nancy C. Moorman sold 41 acres to Terrell Morgan for the sum of $205.00. This land lay on the east fork of Seneca Creek and adjoined Terrell's own property as well as the land of Thomas Moorman, Edmund Brown, and Archibald Blankenship. Witnesses to the deed were Thomas Cocke and Thomas Fox. Recorded 10 Aug 1829. 22 Jan 1835 (Book 19, page 403) William A. Clark sold 187 acres that he had acquired from Micajah Clark in 1818, to Terrell Morgan for the sum of $280.50. This land lay on Molly's Creek and adjoined the land of John Peters, John Bryan, Micajah Moorman, Richard Callaham, William Shearer, and the estate of John Akers. Recorded same day. 13 Feb 1837 (Book 21, page 53) Archibald & Prudence Blankenship sold 5 acres to Terrell Morgan for the sum of $15.00. This land lay on the northeast fork of Seneca Creek and adjoined the property of Major T.B. Johnson. Recorded same day. 14 Sept 1837 (Book 21, page 395) Terrell & Dorothea Morgan sold land of unspecified acreage to Richard Morgan [Terrell's son by his first marriage to Jane Hill] for the sum of $1.00 as well as "for natural love and affection they bear." This land lay on the north fork of Seneca Creek and adjoined the property of Thomas Elliott, Thomas Cocke, and Samuel Cunningham. It was part of the land held by William Stone at the time of his death that had been deeded to Terrell by William Stone the Younger in 1823. Witnesses to the deed were Thomas Fox and Richard Harvey.
