Enlisted Aug 3 1814 and discharged Dec 16 1814 In 1853 and 1855 address of soldier was Campbell county VA and 1871 in said county at Yellow Branch, VA. Maiden name of widow was Martha Willard. They married in said Campbell Co VA about 1835. Declaration made in Campbell co, VA May 9 1853 by William Farmer, age 56, a resident of said Campbell Co, VA, states he served under Capt James H. Haden in the 3rd regiment of VA militia under Col Wm C. Dickenson; that he was drafted at Campbell Co Courthouse, VA Aug 27 1814 for 6 months and was discharged at Ellicots Mill, 12,1, 1814. He makes this declaration to obtain bounty land. Also made declaration in same county April 24 1855. Declaration was also made by William Farmer in Campbell Co VA, Oct 4, 1871, stating his wife's name was Martha Willard to whom he was marriedabout 1835 in said county by Henry Finch, a minister.
