Baker abaker@searnet.com} No date To the Worshipful the Justices of the County Court of Caroline in Chancery Humbly complaining sheweth unto your worships your Orator Richard Jones of the said County of Caroline. That George Jones of the said county being in his life time possessed of real and personal estate did in and by his last will and testament bearing the date the 16th day of August 1796 among other things direct that his Estate be kept together until his son John arrives to the age of twenty one years.------that upon the marriage or death of his Wife the plantation lent her to be sold at the discretion of his Executors & the money arrising from such sale to be equally divided among his children and of his said will appointed Thomas Jones & Richard Bridges Executors as by the will of record in Caroline Court may appear. That the said Thomas Jones and Richard Bridges qualified as Executors and the former hath lately departed this life. That the widow of the said George Jones is also dead and his son John hath departed this life intestate without wife or child and without arriving to the age of twenty one years, whereby your Orator humbly conceives that the ----- is the will of his father George Jones for a division of his estate among his children is done away, as John, by the act of God, never will arrive to the age of twenty one years. That your orator is of full age and there are only two children of the said George Jones deceased to wit Elizabeth & Sally Jones both of whom are infants and therefore no division of the salves of their father & other personal estate can legally be made among them without the aid and direction of this Court. To the end therefore that the said Richard Bridges the executor and the said Elizabeth & Sally Jones (who your orator prays may be made defendants to this bill) the former on oath and the two latter by guardians without oath, may --- & perfect answer make to the premises. And that by Decree of this worshipful Court the slaves of said George Jones deceased may be equally divided among your Orator and his two sisters Elizabeth & Sally Jones, and that the said Richard Bridges may make up an answer of his executorship of the Estate of said George Jones deceased and pay to your Orator and his two sisters their representative proportions of the money remaining in his hands unadministered or such other decree made in the premises as to the Court shall seem equatable & right. Richd Bridges 14 Jan 1806 Pursuant to the decrectal order of the worshipful Court of Caroline we the subscribers have divided the Negroes belonging to the Estate of George Jones dec’d agreeable to the above allotments & have stated the bonds ans above Indluding Interest to the present time amounting in the whole to five hundred and ninety two pounds eleven shillings & seven pence for each legatee and have delivered the whole to Richard Jones guardian to the infant defendants Elizabeth & Sally Jones, We have also settled Richard Bridges executorship of said Jones Estate and find a balance due the said Bridges of twenty -- pounds 17 shillings agreeable to the anoxed account Given under our Hands this 14 Jan 1806 Signed: John G.
