     I do with advice of the Council hereby certify that James Taylor Gent. late 
a Capt in the Ship Tartar appears to have been disabled in such a manner while 
in the service of the Commonwealth as to entitle him to the sum of 75 pounds 
yearly; which allowance is accordingly made him, commencing on the first day of 
January 1786.  Given under my hand at Richmond this 5th day of January 1786.

   One document which has only part of it on film states that Taylor had a wound 
to his thigh and that a discharge from the wound was still considerable.

     Many documents were included within, but the writing was so small as to be 
unreadable.
