Obituary of William Walter Boyd, 1964 - Carroll Co. VA


William Walter Boyd, age 82, died at his home in Winston-Salem, North 
Carolina, July 4, 1964. He was born in Carroll County, Virginia, and after 
moving to Winston-Salem made his home with his sister Georgia Belle [Boyd] 
McMillian and brother-in-law Arnold Carew (Ponce) McMillian.

Walter was the son of Charles O. Boyd and Susan Thomas. Surviving are one 
brother Luther Boyd, of Daytona Beach, Florida; one sister Agnes E. Boyd, of 
Sanford, Florida. He was preceded in death by brothers Edward Boyd, Lee Boyd 
and sisters Georgia Belle [Boyd] McMillian, and Molly Boyd.

The body is at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy. The funeral will be held 
Sunday July 5, 1964, in conjunction with the funeral of his sister Georgia 
Belle McMillian, who died on July 2nd.

The officiating clergyman will be: the Rev. Ray Troutman and the Rev. G. W. 
Gravitt. Pallbearers will be Charles Boyd, Jimmy Boyd, Billy Boyd, Churchill 
Thomas, J. W. Johnson, and Wade Mendenhall. Burial will be in Oakdale 
Cemetery in Mt. Airy.
