Obituary of Nancy Ann Haynes McMillian, 1895 - Carroll Co. VA NANCY ANN HAYNES MCMILLIAN Nancy Ann Haynes McMillian, age 75, of Carroll County Virginia, died July 25, 1895 of bronchitis. She was a daughter of Archibald Haynes and Sarah Ann McMillian and a granddaughter of Bethany and Mourning Haynes. Nancy was married to Joseph McMillian,Sr. son of Nathaniel and Anna McMillian, who preceded her in death. He was the grandson of Abraham and Elizabeth McMillian, a well-known and respected Blacksmith, Dentist, and maker of metal puzzles and toys. She is survived by four children: Haynes McMillian (and wife, Caroline Guynn); Hardin Reynolds McMillian (and wife, Agnes Gelominda Dawson); Sarah Ann McMillian (and husband, Samuel Dudley McMillian); Joseph McMillian, Jr. (and wife, Abascilla Haynes); and a number of grandchildren. One son John H. McMillian preceded her in death. She is further survived by three brothers: Stephen Haynes, William Henry Haynes, Littleberry Haynes; and three sisters: Catherine Haynes Combs, Mary Ann Haynes [Nester] Bolden, and Massey Haynes Boyd. Brothers, Preston Haynes, Samuel Haynes, and John Haynes preceded her in death. Nancy was known for her culinary skills, and will be fondly remembered by all who knew her. Submitted by William E.
