Obituary for Caroline [Guynn] McMillian, 1947 - Carroll Co. VA

Caroline [Guynn] McMillian passed away at her home January 11, 1947. She was 
born in Carroll County, Virginia, December 28, 1856, daughter of Levi Guynn 
and Sarah Hiatt, and granddaughter of Eli Hiatt and Phoebe Ayers.

She was married on December 28, 1882 to Haynes McMillian, son of Joseph 
McMillian, Sr. and Nancy Ann Haynes, and grandson of Nathaniel and Anna 
McMillian and of Archibald Haynes and Sarah Ann McMillian.

She is survived by sons: Thomas Garland McMillian (twin), Ellis McMillian, 
and Wilbur McMillian; daughters Mahettebelle (Hettie Bell) McMillian, twin of 
Thomas Garland McMillian, Martha [McMillian] Chandler, and Margaret (Maggie) 
[McMillian] McMillian.

She was preceded in death by son: David Cleveland McMillian; brothers-in-law: 
John H. McMillian, Hardin Reynolds McMillian and Joseph McMillian, Jr. (and 
wife Abascilla [Haynes] McMillian; and sister-in-law Sarah Ann McMillian (and 
husband) Samuel Dudley McMillian.

After the funeral services, Caroline will be buried at Oak Grove Baptist 
Church Cemetery at Cana in southern Carroll County, the beautiful resting 
place of several generations of the McMillian, Guynn, and Haynes families.
